we stayed for one night in the king porch room. Our first visit to Charlotte. The mansion is in a lovely neighborhood and the grounds have large trees and some gardens. The porches are in need of redecorating and the noise from the air conditioning kept us awake all night. (We had visited the Duke home in Newport RI and...

We booked a short stay here for our son & his partner a while ago and on their recommendation booked in when we were in the area. It was all we had hoped for and more. Beautiful building, lovely gardens, friendly staff. If you are in Charlotte, don't go anywhere else!

My mom, Sister, sister's little baby, and I stayed at the Duke mansion for a few days in mid April. We got 2 second floor rooms (highly recommend!!!!) with the attached screened-in porch. Our stay could not have been any more perfect! The gardens, the complementary breakfast, and of course the charm and history of the Duke mansion!!! We will...

A really great place; very pretty, lovely grounds and helpful staff. Room was comfortable and quiet. Whilst the Duke does not have a restaurant for lunch or dinner, it is near several good restaurants (walking distance).

What a delight; from the amazing and formidable entrance to the estate grounds and mansion to the perfectly manicured zen gardens, quiet areas and walkways. The staff and service were top notch and could not have been more accommodating. Rooms and suites were as fine and comfortable as could be and we look forward to returning soon.

This is a gorgeous historic property, run as a non-profit bed and breakfast. The grounds are peaceful and lovely. Do not expect 5 star amenities; go to the hyatt or intercon for that. Come here for a delightful stay in a unique place. Rooms are spacious. Breakfast is delicious. We stayed on the third floor---no porch, but a great room...

Exquisite room with a 2nd story balcony porch shared with our neighbor. Locks on all adjoining doors and curtains to block view into room. The room was amazing. Even had an iHome. The staff was friendly and helped me find my wallet I left behind when I returned. The breakfast was pretty good for a small staff and overall the...

A romantic stay tucked away in the city of Charlotte. You feel as if you have escaped back in history walking in the rose garden and having breakfast in the screen porch. Our room was very large with a screened in porch swing over looking the garden. The history of this home is worth reading about as well! Enjoy!
