Had a mini family reunion in Charlotte, NC. Since my relatives were staying at this hotel, I chose to also. I don't often stay downtown when I travel, so for me, the price was a bit high. It probably was reasonable for a downtown hotel. It was a really quaint hotel on the corner of Tryon St. It was easily... More

This place is a wonderful place to stay with great food and a great little bar. The night life is just a walk or Uber drive away. The area is Charming and was light up for Christmas with carriage rides as well. The staff was wonderful. We loved the charming room that takes you back in time with all the... More

We had never stayed at The Dunhill before this trip to Charlotte. We found the room cozy but clean with modern amenities. Check-in was easy and quick, and the downtown location was absolutely the best! We had a pull-out love seat for our teen daughter which was very nice. The queen bed was very comfy.

Stayed at the Dunhill when traveling for work. Very clean, very nice rooms (with chocolates at turn down service), nice breakfast buffet, great service and excellent location in Uptown. Good value too. Highly recommend.

This is an old historic hotel, so I expected it to be somewhat dark in the interior, which it was. The location is ideal to walk to all tourist locations in up-town, plus most of the restaurants. The staff were excellent. Breakfast was only okay, but part of the package. The room was compact and a little tired. The sad... More

Great staff, from Front desk, to bar and valet. Nice, helpful, and a great place to stay. Robbin at the Front Desk, took stellar care of us, and Michael, tonight's Valet saved us from missing our concert. Thanks to all for the best stay ever!!

This wonderful old hotel is handsomely appointed, yet reasonably priced. The two fluffy clouds that hovered in room our proved to be as comfortable as they looked. Spa robes and high quality toiletries were very nice touches. We woke well rested and refreshed, just in time for the complimentary breakfast. The buffet featured both scrambled and hardboiled eggs, hot and... More

We were running from Hurricane Matthew. The Dunhill staff was charming and helpful. The hotel itself is a wonderful historical property. It is clean, tasteful and the food was very good. The location is right down town in an excellent area. Highly recommend!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Decades before The Dunhill Hotel would open, local architect Louis Asbury Sr. was entranced by the great Italian craftsmen who created cathedrals famous for their soaring, elegant roof lines. Today, The Dunhill Hotel stands distinct on the Charlotte skyline, an amalgam of American, British, and Italian influences, something those with an eye for period detail can detect. Opened in 1929 as the Mayfair Manor apartment hotel, with half of its original 100 rooms permanent residences, today's Dunhill Hotel is a thoughtful evolution. A full restoration was recently completed, and various on-going aesthetic improvements all share a common goal--to celebrate the original vision of Mr. Asbury, with a nod to the needs of the modern traveler. ... more   less
