The location is phenomenal—minutes from Chimney Rock State Park. It’s close to a few restaurants as well.
Our room was recently renovated, clean, and spacious. The small kitchenette was very useful to make breakfast. (There is a small lounge where muffins and coffee are available at the inn in the morning, as well as filtered water to fill up water bottles.) We loved the Keurig coffee machine in the room, as well as the fridge with freezer and the microwave.
It’s a “smart” hotel so we got the code to open our room via text message and we could communicate with them the same way during the entire stay, as there is no front desk with personnel. Free parking.
There was a mix-up with our booking, though, as we got a different room that had no kitchenette. After some text messages we were able to sort that out.
The inn is by the road so inevitably there’s some car noise coming in. The bed was too soft for out liking. There was also a lamp constantly turned on right in front of our room, so even with the “blackout” curtains used it wasn’t dark enough for the night. Showering was also a bit tricky as there was no wall holder for soap/shampoo and the shower curtain was pretty short so we had to pay attention not to flood the bathroom.
Overall for the price I would definitely recommend it and would go back any time. This inn is the perfect choice for those wanting to explore the area without spending and arm and leg.

A Little Old-fashioned Motel. Our room (#12) was small but recently renovated with taste. Two chairs and a table outside to enjoy the mountain view...and especially the fall.
There remains a small smell of withdrawn on arrival and an air conditioning that makes a sound of hell (next stage of renovation?).
The common room on the ground floor allows to make coffee/tea, drink water, use games.
An enclosed space to make your dog ramble:)

The Owners here are sweet and were accommodating to any needs we had. The guest rooms are super cute, clean and cozy, with lake house decor which gave it a homey feel. The beds were comfortable, with lots of pillows. We brought our own pillows but didn’t need to.Plenty of clean, fluffy towels were in the bathroom, as well as extra ones on the hanging clothes rack. Hop, skip and jump to dining and shopping. Great place to go to just relax and chill out for the weekend. View from the front porch is awesome, and they even supplied a pair of binoculars to use to see the chimney on Chimney Rock as well as the awesome long fall waterfall across the street. Will be staying here again and from now on whenever we want a weekend away! Excellent

We got in late and it was so cold and windy. The manager/owner was very nice and helpful in recommendations for dinner. This inn is perfect in not being right in the middle of the shopping area, but it is also within walking distance easily on warmer days.

We woke up the next morning and my husband yelled for me to come outside and when I did, the view was so cool!! The Hickory Nut falls were right across the street from us! It was beautiful.

We will definitely come back again to Hickory FAlls again!! Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality!

Place is a run down old motel that smells like must and mold., very damp and dark.
The view is a busy road way. No balcony on bottom floor rooms, just a few plastic chairs that face the crowded parking lot.
Rugs in room are disgusting and bathroom is so old and rust in tubs, water has no pressure, old dirty drapes and blinds, a tiny one m cup coffee maker, small dirty refrigerator that only fits a few water bottles. Very dark and so small.
The pics online are not what it looks like.
Pros are that it’s 5 min from the cute town.
If you stay there be prepared .. so disappointing

Thank you for the hospitality, Oscar. Room 8 ticked all the boxes for a one night stay. Our room was freshly sanitized and our beds were comfy with really nice pillows and bed linens. My husband made friends with another guest and they enjoyed the breeze on the patio while solving the world’s problems. You are essentially close to groceries, lake, dining and gift shops. Thank you again Oscar. See you again soon.

Besides the views being absolutely fantastic, Oscar was extremely helpful and courteous and always asked if there was anything he could do to help. So much better service than any big name hotel. They provide several hidden extras (i.e. Tongs and spatulas to grill with and a small library of movies) that really just push them above the rest. Also, I had an unfortunate incident where something exploded all over my clothes in my travel bag and he went out of his way to help me and take care of that issue. Absolutely wonderful experience, thank you so much!!

We just happened across this place online, and it far exceeded our expectations. We had a great experience with a friendly and accommodating staff, even helping me with printing some documents that I needed for work. The view from the front porch was incredible and they even had complimentary binoculars in each room so we could take full advantage and a white noise machine (unheard of in anything but luxury hotels). It was just outside the town and we were able to walk to restaurants and shops. The room was modern with luxurious bedding and towels and spotlessly clean. I highly recommend this place to anyone staying in the Lake Lure or Hickory Nut area

The room was very clean and nicely decorated. The view from the room was amazing. The staff was helpful and accommodating. The location was excellent, very close to the entrance of Chimney Rock state park and the town of Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. It was quaint and a comfortable place to sleep after a day of adventures.

Quaint and clean. Although we had trouble checking in and no one on site, once we got in the room we found it neat and very clean with nice touches of decor. Likely best for short stays. Nice lounge area, and parking close to rooms. We’ll come back.

We live on-site so we don't close for the season. The office is usually open on the weekends and a few hours each weekday. I recommend making reservations so I can be here for you. I do take a few weeks to visit family and friends during the winter months. The rates are $60-75, depending on the room. Thank you for your interest, Regards, Dean
