We have been here 3 times. wonderful family place to take a nice beach vacation. Dolphins almost daily on the beach. Great pools by sound and ocean. Restaurant at the pool in the evening is unbelievably good and views spectacular.
Vacationed at a home on the Oceanside in Corolla Light. 4 families - grandparents, parents and grandchildren. There is something here for everyone. Easy beach access, playground with basketball and shuffleboard, beautiful ocean front pools, and quiet streets where the kids can safely ride their...More
As for the house itself it was beautiful. The house was clean and comfortable. But the decks were very rough and unable to be walked on without shoes. Several of the deck chairs literally fell apart when sat in. The ice maker didn't work or...More

This is a lovely place. The staff is friendly and it is located only a few blocks from the ocean. We had a room with a sound view. It was right on the water. The porch is communal but spacious enough. Because the whole floor...More

There's a lot to do in Corolla, especially in Corolla Light. I suggest checking out the Corolla Light web site. I can't post the link, but google corolla light resort and you'll find it. Click on the "Things to Do" tab at the top and then click "see the sites" and you can read about local attractions. Click on "get active" to see a description of activity related resort amenities, and click on "weekly activities/classes" to see a calendar of planned weekly activities, great if you have kids. If you click on the "more" tab, you can also find links for restaurants, shopping, and other recreation; the Corolla Adventure Park sounds interesting (haven't been there myself yet).
I've never stayed in the Worley House, but I looked it up on the web site and see that it's on Miller Ct. Corolla Light runs a trolley service to take people to the beach, and according to the map of trolley stops located on the site it looks like there's a trolley stop right in front of your house, so that's probably the easiest way to get to the beach, and the trolley will drop you off at the ocean front pool complex. To walk it looks like you would walk north on Rt. 12 about 5 minutes to Shad St., and then cut over to the beach on Shad, probably another 5 minutes.
In terms of places to eat Northbanks is probably my favorite, located in Tim Buck II shopping center, but it's very popular and can be a long wait. I haven't eaten at Urban Kitchen yet, but it gets great reviews - I've read the owner/chef tries to source all ingredients locally. Agave Roja in food lion shopping center is very good Mexican. For good beef & seafood you plan to cook yourself, check out the Butcher Block, also in Food Lion shopping center.
Oh, one more thing, the Outer Banks Center For Wild Life Education is located in Corolla, just a mile north of your home. They run a lot of really interesting programs, but they book up EARLY, so don't wait until you get there to check it out or you'll be to late. You can get to their site from the Corolla Light site, I suggest checking it out now and if there's something you want to do call them now to reserve your spot.
