Check into a nice room after a long 11 hour drive, I decided to leave for a short time to pick up something to eat from a local restaurant. When I returned my key card didn’t work. I went to the front desk to get it reset. When I got back to the room I notice an item on the laying on the floor that didn’t belong to me. That’s Right! Someone else was check into my room. Fortunately nothing was missing, the situation was fixed, but how dangerous especially during the COVID-19. I don’t know who or how people could have entered the room. The one work sprayed air freshener
Granted I can’t give this place a good review, but I have to say the staff was extremely nice and polite during our stay, so it’s a shame there are other factors pulling the place down. Besides some need for upkeep, which is usually somewhat expected in any budget hotel, there was a rough crowd of people hanging out late that night leading to some safety concerns. Our non smoking room absolutely reeked of smoke and there was only a hole where the smoke detector used to be. We slept one night, left early the next morning, and I will be using another place the next time we need a night to stay before heading into the Outer Banks.
We stayed here overnight due to hurricane evacuation. Unfortunately, this is not the best Choice hotel we have stayed at. There was no light in the bathroom, the handle to the sink fell off. We found a note under the cushion of the chair that was dated May 2019. Definitely not worth the money paid to stay here. We told the front desk of the things wrong in the room, they didn’t even make us an answer or even offer an apology. This place is in need of much needed repairs. Very disappointed!!
I’m not the type of person to write a bad review normally but I was so shocked at the conditions here. It looks NOTHING like the hotel and rooms posted here by the management. We weren’t looking for fancy, but just clean and kept up. We booked this room for $104 to come down to NC from PA a day early before checking into our rental house in Nags Head. Pulling up, we noticed right away a big chunk of the hotel stucco missing and outside looked pretty unkempt. The lobby was ok, but dark. The front desk staff were pleasant. Then we went to our room. Wow, just wow. It did have new carpet, that was a plus. Take a look at these pictures I took of the furniture in the room we had. Looks like they went trash picking to get the furniture. A beer bottle opener screwed to the wall in a hotel room, that’s a new sight to see. The desk was being held together by electrical tape. The bottom of the small dresser was falling apart. The chair was dirty and just bleh. The nightstands didn’t just not match but were worn and wobbly. Then I noticed a long hair hanging from the light fixture, you’ll have to zoom in to see it. Very disappointing from the Quality Inn, we usually love staying at this brand. Don’t stay here. Only thing worse was the Econo Lodge next door that had “weekly rates.” I received a survey that I filled out after staying here. No response from the brand or manager. Do No Stay Here. …
We stayed here for 3 nights. Nice, clean hotel with very friendly staff. Modest priced hotel which includes a free hot breakfast! Each room has a fridge and microwave. The pool is immaculate! Tika, who is the GM goes over and beyond to help you! Less than an hour drive to OBX!
