Hi, We played your course today in unseasonably hot weather (90 F + -) and found NO water available either on the cart or on the course. One member of our group complained on the 11 th hole and then had a dizzy spell on the 12th. The cart woman had no water, only beer and sugary stuff, graciously offered ice from her cooler. Given the conditions, I found it irresponsible not to have water avialable.

We recently stayed at Etowah Valley. Our motel room was clean and recently updated with new paint and flooring. The patio facing the golf course was a nice place for morning coffee or after dark relaxation watching the fire flies. The rooms are pretty basic. The golf course is very enjoyable and the grill is a good place for lunch or a beer. The rates are very reasonable. The pool looked to be enjoyable and folks seemed happy there. We didn't use it as we had golf, sightseeing and hiking on our minds.

This golf course is in terrible shape. I used to go there back in its hay day in the 70s and 80s. It has fallen in disrepair. Very sad. Used to be a good place. Food and beverage is not suitable. Weeds everywhere. Bunkers washed out. Slow greens. I grew up nesrby so i know whst this place used to be. All the guys that grew up in the area and playing the course no longer go back. Too many other good options though more money. This course should not be rated.

We did a two day stay and play in May 2022. The room was below average. The toilet seat was broken and slow to flush and all the furniture is very dated. It is a remote location so that was nice. The course is below average. Course conditions were pretty bad; very high rough (don't even bother looking for you ball if you miss the fairway) and the greens are very slow. Fairways were average at best but many places had bare spots and no grass. Tee boxes need a lot of attention. Overall, we would not drive 2 and half hours to stay at this "resort" again.

We live nearby in a house that does not have good guest quarters. For many years we have put our guests up here, but because of COVID, we had not done so for a while. I am happy to report that it is still the perfect place for our guests. My BIL reported that his room was clean, neat, well-appointed, comfortable, and quiet. The rooms are not fancy, but he was very comfortable.

My family stayed at Etowah Valley Golf and Resort for an extended period while relocating to western North Carolina. This provided us with the opportunity to know the Resort very well. We stayed in both the North Lodge and the South Lodge as well as two different cottages. We had a delightful time at Etowah Valley Golf and Resort! The rooms and cottages were very comfortable and extremely clean. All of our rooms were dog friendly, which was critical to us. The management and staff were warm and friendly to our four-legged family member! We found Etowah Valley Golf and Resort to be quiet, comfortable, family friendly and relaxing. The Resort is centrally located near Brevard, Hendersonville, Mills River, Arden and Asheville, which are all easily accessible. Outdoor activities abound around Etowah, all of which are a short drive from the Resort. At nearby Dupont State Forest there is an abundance of great hiking, clear mountain streams, and stunning waterfalls (our favorite was a tie between Triple Falls and High Falls). The Davidson River is minutes away and is renowned for some of the best trout fishing in the United States. Nearby Davidson River Outfitters has many excellent personnel to help with questions about fishing in the area. The Mills River is also nearby and it, too, offers excellent fishing in crystal clear streams and hiking. The Pisgah National Forest is minutes away and abounds with activities. Families will enjoy sliding down Sliding Rock, feeling the spray from the waterfall at Looking Glass Falls, hiking to John’s Rock and visiting the fish hatchery, all a short drive from the Resort. Nearby Transylvania County boasts over 250 waterfalls! Of course, the Resort has its own beautiful golf course with a swimming pool, ping pong table and tennis courts. The cottages at the Resort are spacious and can accommodate a large group. Each cottage has an outdoor grill and fire pit. All rooms and cottages have a great view the beautiful golf course. The middle course has trees/shrubs that actually bear small oranges! And white squirrels are plentiful throughout the Resort. We saw spectacular sunrises in the morning and the sunsets in the mountains beyond the golf course were unforgettable. For those wanting to explore dining options, there are many great places to eat near the Resort. We enjoyed dining at El Bronco’s (excellent Mexican), Brevard Diner as well as Tooley’s (great sandwiches made with much love) and Dixie Diner (delicious breakfasts) both in nearby Laurel Park. The Bar-B-Que at Hawg Wild in Pisgah Forest is outstanding. You will not leave Fuji Yama’s in Brevard hungry. MacFarland’s Bakery in Hendersonville is always a special treat! Quotations in Brevard is another favorite spot. Dads will enjoy the many local breweries. Oskar Blues, Sierra Nevada and many others are a short drive -- and all have taprooms, some with beautiful mountain settings! The best thing about the Resort, however, is the staff. Tim Connelly does an outstanding job! The members of his staff, Ben, Katie, and Lauren, are also excellent! Each made our stay very pleasant and enjoyable; they were extremely responsive to our needs. Ray, the facilities manager, also did an excellent job helping us with any need we had, even after hours. It is rare to find a Resort that is family friendly, pet friendly and a great value with excellent service. We have relocated to the area and plan to be back at Etowah many times in the future.

We had a first great trip to Etowah. We stayed in an upstairs room overlooking the golf course (18th hole). The room was spacious and the bathroom had a separate sink/dressing area as well as a sink, toilet and tub/shower area. The restaurant was closed for the season. We had a pet friendly room. Our dog did find several empty candy wrappers under the bed that must have been left behind by a previous guest. We mentioned this at check out, and the staff was very apologetic. Smoking is apparently allowed on the balconies. This was not an issue for us because there was no one in the rooms near us smoking, but would definitely have been an issue if a smoker had been nearby (I am very allergic to cigarette smoke). I think I would mention should we go back. Overall this was a great place for a short stay - very convenient to Brevard and Hendersonville, pet friendly and affordable. The other guests we met were all family types and very nice. We would definitely go back!

We weren’t here for golf, just to stay for a few days as a mountain getaway. The course looks good, and it is well maintained. The rooms unfortunately are not. The room we had had dripping faucets and a door lock that was coming out of the door. The wi-fi (which Apple immediately notified us) was not only unsecure but also didn’t work in the room. It did work on the deck which had a great view of the golf course that was marred by garbage and litter on the ground immediately off the deck. The beds are comfortable, and we had a good meal in the pub at the clubhouse.

We have played the Etowah Valley Golf Course many times the past years. It has been two years since we played the course. With the recent rains and the course being in a valley it has challenges with ability to maintain it. Accordingly, the course is struggling to be able to keep it at a higher standard of upkeep. Offering 27 holes, we traditionally play the South & West but this day we played the North & West. The North has interesting holes with some elevation changes. It was not in the best shape due to rain issues, but still offers challenges. The West Course brings in more elevation changes with uphill and downhill and valley fairways. Hazards to carry come into play too. The new golf carts have GPS which is still being set up and this will help a lot in playing the course and knowing distances, etc. We have varied weather with clear skies, then clouds and rain for a hole or two. The pace of play was very good. The Starter and Pro Shop staff were most welcoming, helpful and friendly.
