I’ve stayed at a few campgrounds on the Outer Banks, though was not ready for the scene that awaited me on my first trip to Frisco Woods. Redneck Circus is the only way I can describe it; it was a perfect storm of the campground overselling, having extremely small campsites (right on top of each other) and being a holiday...

Just got back from our Memorial Weekend getaway, and stayed 2 nights at Frisco Woods... I will not be going back. If you go, expect loud music, loud people, and basically any female in your group will get hit on, or solicited (aka wife, gf, dog, whatever). It's a party campground with no rules... chopping down trees, no big deal,...

Low point of our 5 day Outer Banks vacation. Campground needs updates and people who care. We arrived on Friday at around 6pm on May 2nd. We didn’t have a reservation and didn’t need one. The place was empty, maybe 15% occupancy. Location was nice, right on the water bayside, so we decided we would stay 2 nights and kayak....

This place could be a gem. It was ok and I think the best campground on OBX, The rest look like camping @ wal-mart. I would enjoy seeing this place fixed up. The beach is good and the people that run this place were nice.It would then be a great place to stay. Now it just OK!

Went camping over the weekend with my wife and two dogs. Great service. Nice bath houses. They even had a laundry facility. Would definitely come back. There were a lot of different sites to choose from. Very clean

We had a very nice couple of days at the campground in late September. As the season was winding down, we had a lot of space, and no problems with the old, but serviceable, bathrooms. However, I would never want to be here at high season, where the smallish sites would be a real issue, and the 3 small (2...

Stayed Sept 8 to Sept 12. Called about one month ahead and reserved my camp site. Promptly received the confirmation email. When we arrived, check in was quick and easy. Staff was always very friendly and helpful. Our site was right on the Sound. Our site was shaded and large. Had no trouble with the faucet or electricity (one we...

We just camped at FWC for the first time with friends who have been coming here for 10 years. Between our 5 families we had 13 boys and they had a ball! One friend brought his 15 foot sail boat and all the kids enjoyed going out on sailing trips in the sound as well as day trips across the...

I stayed in Frisco woods campground during the third weekend of August. All in all it's your most basic campground - simple, open sites, family oriented, uninspiring. Me and my husband decided to stay in the "remote" site, #79. This site sits atop a small hill in the middle of the campground. Its fairly wooded and if you're lucky enough...
