The property was a bit older but generally clean and ok for the price. Off the highway a bit so noise was ok. Lots of restaurants and shopping close by, was able to walk across the street for a Steak for dinner. Staff was friendly. Good for a quick overnight if on the highway heading somewhere

Several hotels in this area, but this was a very good choice. Rooms were just fine, as was breakfast. The staff was very helpful and pleasant and it is well located for the highway, the airport and restaurants nearby. I stayed because it is only 13 miles to the airport, which was a great choice and very good value.

We stopped in Gastonia on our way down to Atlanta and choose this Marriott property for its location and price. It was very inexpensive. Hotel was a little worn in the public areas. Our room was fine. My only issue is that the toilets are very low and I have had a knee replacement recently so I really needed a bar to help me get up from the very low toilet - it's been a while since we have stayed at a hotel due to Covid so I need to remember to ask for a handicap room. Breakfast was OK. Things are different now due to Covid - sandwiches are pre-packaged & heated. There was scrambled eggs & pork sausage. The scrambled eggs were not very good, pork sausage was just OK. Coffee was good.

After checking in and immediately checking out of the Quality Inn in Gastonia, we found this hotel. It was clean with a nice breakfast. We only stayed one night while on a road trip. It's a very nice hotel - worth a few extra bucks.

Awful experience. Check-in took 45 minutes? “We don’t go by confirmation numbers.” What? I was given the wrong room. Then told they would not give me the correct room. It took a phone call to sales or someone and another 15 minutes to get the correct room. The hotel is not clean at all and in desperate need of repair. We’ve squashed five cockroaches—so far. TVs in our rooms don’t work. Response from the front desk “nothin’ we can do.” More like nothing they care to do. Poor attitudes. Poor service. It’s hard to believe we are actually paying to stay here. The front desk’s attitude seems to imply that they are doing us a favor. Are the beds really queen beds? Seem awfully small. Three of our athletes have already left the hotel to stay with parents. Disgusted with the conditions I can’t find one positive thing to say about this miserable hotel other than it’s relatively close to the State Meet site where we’re competing. Before this I had a positive impression of Fairfield Inns. No longer. It’s sad that are my team (we booked 12 rooms) had to stay even one night in this place. Never, ever again.…

This location is a typical stop for use over the years. About 5-7 years ago they remodeled. I guess quality remodeling was not a priority. Walk-in shower always resulted in flooding the bathroom. Soap was not provided until the last day of our stay. Shampoo was a no-show also. There is not place in the shower to set stuff down. You have to reach around the curtain to grab place/grab stuff from the sink. Breakfast was a big disappointment. Fewer selections than before, even fewer during weekdays. Microwave also removed from breakfast area during the week. Heating stuff up required going elsewhere. Tables not wiped down unless you did it yourself. While I intend on returning in the future, I will also be searching for a better place.

From the moment I arrived at the Fairfield Inn in Gastonia, I received wonderful service from Nicole Bolt, Director of Sales. My goal was to see the famous Christmas lights in McAdenville, North Carolina. Coming from the Charlotte area, Nicole is very knowledgeable about the region, and she helped prepare me with facts that made my trip to McAdenville that much more meaningful. Nicole helped me download Uber on my cell phone, and she provided spot on directions on what route to take and where to park in McAdenville so that the throng of cars and visitors could be avoided. Polite, knowledgeable, friendly, and mature, Nicole is a wonderful ambassador for the Fairfield Inn in Gastonia, North Carolina. In addition, I would like to thank Jose who works at this Fairfield Inn. He took a keen interest in helping me when I misplaced my car keys and went out of his way to check the lost and found. Jose is such a gentleman. He carried my luggage to my car when my poodle and I prepared to depart. Thank you both for making my Christmas holiday a memorable experience!…

I booked one night to attend a wedding. I chose the Fairfield Inn because of Mariott's reputation for excellent service and accommodations. Unfortunately, this location did not live up to that reputation. I chose a single Queen room thinking it would give my husband and I a little extra room. Nope. These rooms are positioned right next to the elevator so the elevator shaft takes up most of the room. One of the smallest rooms I've ever stayed in. The desk clerk was not very helpful nor friendly. Choosing to speak with the maintenance/landscaping staff member than check us in. There was not a luggage valet in the room, so our luggage took up what little floor space was available. Maybe this sound spetty - but we had shampoo and lotion but no conditioner. I had to go to the check in desk to ask for conditioner. Breakfast was adequate, All in all, I would not stay here again and it will make me think again about staying at any Fairfield Inn locations.…

My wife and I had to drive to North Carolina. Our travel agent booked us into the Fairfield Inn by Marriott Charlotte/Gastonia for three nights from 7/16-7/19/21. We booked a separate room for 7/16-7/18/21 for our daughter. On 7/18, we checked our daughter out of her room. A little later, when we went out of our room and returned, we discovered we were locked out. We were told the computer showed both rooms for only two nights instead of 3 nights in one (the original confirmation) and 2 nights in the other (the additional booking). Therefore, we had been checked out with our daughter the morning of 7/18. All our belongings were still in our room. We were finally able to secure that room for the third night, but the staff apparently dismissed our travel agent’s booking confirmation and ended up charging us more for the night of 7/18 than our original confirmation noted. Other issues: The hotel was not clean. The hallway on the fourth floor felt like a sauna...oppressively hot! The room was not clean or kept up. The staff was rarely available for questions or concerns and when they were, they acted like we were an imposition. The "breakfast" was non-existent and what was there became less and less each day. It was nothing like the pictures online. We finally went elsewhere for coffee. Housekeeping never came into our rooms and the trash was never emptied. We had to empty them ourselves. There was no extra toilet paper, facial tissue, shampoo, conditioner or soap supplied to either room. Not Marriott standards! Awful stay! Marriott Customer Service was notified of our unacceptable stay, but they have not responded after a week’s time. Apparently they are unconcerned.…

Initial impression was awesome as the front desk agent , Char, was exceptional. True southern hospitality and appreciation of Bonvoy program loyalty. Offered plan upgrade without me having to ask! The problem I had with this property is in no way the fault of personnel. Upon entering the room I immediately realized this property was a smoking hotel in the past. The room reeked and was almost unbearable!! I used a large can of Kysol but did not help. Marriott needs to completely refurbish A coat of paint and a new shower curtain will not remove years of cigarette smoke. It was in the ac unit, carpet, drywall.....everywhere!! Get it together Marriott. I will go elsewhere if I am ever in this area again.
