We loved everything about this place. Our site was very spacious and shaded. We didn't use the bathhouses, but the one we went in was very clean. Grounds were also well kept. Since we come so late in the year, it wasn't crowded, but I'd say at peak it is. Seems to be a lot of seasonal campsites. They were...

Had a nice time at this campground. It was cool and shady in August which was a pleasant relief coming up from Raleigh. The bathrooms were very clean. The "permanent" sites were often decorated with unique lights which was cool to walk around and see. The only negative was that the sites had a ton of rocks, which is good...

-giggling- I read the reviews and wondered what everyone was referring to regarding the golf cart mafia. Boy were they right! From sun up to down you see nothing but golf cart riding around looking at you. It wasn't any ONE person in particular it was a "thing". Larry guided us to our spot and spotted us perfectly. He was...

I set my reservation in April and had to have a $50 deposit. That was fine. I reserved a primitive tent site which online says it is $22 a night. So my total after the deposit should have been $104 or less if there is a discount for the whole week. When I arrived my total was $164.80 they did...

This is an absolutely awesome place to camp. My wife and I made our first trip here over the weekend. We were very impressed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The grounds were well maintained and the restrooms/bath houses were cleaner than any campground we have visited. The fishing happened to be quite good also. We are after a...

Overnight end after a day on the Blue Ridge Parkway before continuing our journey in late April 2016. Beautiful, clean, .level, fully serviced campsites on hundreds of scenic acres. Views of the mountains and convenient to the Parkway. Pleasant and helpful staff . Would stay again in a heartbeat. Well done. A model for others.

Called to cancel reservations due to rain and commented to the owner it has NOT rained in months & then when we decided to come to campground for the 1st time it rains. She commented "Well you should have thought about that sooner". I said, "Excuse me, my husband just finished his Cancer Treatments". How rude to a potential customer....

I read the bad reviews, and I guess these people are smoking something, because Raccoon Holler is just great. The sites are level, the place is immaculate, the staff is helpful and friendly, there is a great pond to fish in, a good playground, reasonable rules, and lots of trees for shade. There are games for the kids, balls to...

We come once or twice a year. Right off the parkway, it is with-in driving distance of may attractions in the Boone area, the Virginia Creeper, vineries and of course Zooloes Canoes. I am impressed that that can keep the bath houses as clean as they do with the amount of people who are camping there. What I enjoy most...

We had never heard of this campground, we chose it because of the location - we wanted to be within a reasonable drive to Damascus for the Virginia Creeper Trail but to also stay in NC. The people were very friendly at check in, complete with a welcome wagon (older gentleman in overalls on a golf cart who even helped...
