UPDATE…They still have not even begun to start the renovations they said were coming in 2022, yet.!It has been one year since my last visit and nothing has changed! I think it is a bad thing for them to be affiliated with Choice Resorts. They are in need of a serious renovation.
The Cascades lodge was very good some of the rooms are a little dated. However they are very clean and well maintained. They have a huge swimming with a 100 foot circular slide, also a large "T" shape hot tub . There also have a nice lobby with a fire place. Next to the front desk is a stone pond with a fountain. The facility Is good size with over a hundred rooms available. There is plenty for parking available.
A very high value for the price. The rooms were decent, and the overall facilities were a little on the worn side; however, the quality of the pool, hot tub, water slide, and lobby made it a great experience.
The rooms were clean. The pools, spas and water slide made it feel more like a mini vacation for us. Pool area is inside connected to the lobby. Great location. We stayed here before when it was owned by another group and it was just a hotel with a pool and spas.
Do Not Stay Here!!! For a few dollars more stay next door at the Hampton Inn. This place is run down and has bugs crawling inside the rooms. We booked 2 nights and after the first night left and checked in next door at the Hampton Inn. The beds were uncomfortable to the point after the first night stay my wife and I were sore after we woke up. The pictures are deceiving, walls are paper thin and this place is in dire need of a make over. The continental breakfast consisted of a honey bun and an apple sauce. We paid roughly 154 a night where as if we paid 162 at the Hampton could have had a better night sleep and an actual hot breakfast in the morning. I will be contacting Expedia for a full refund for the 2nd night we did not stay.
They must use photos from 30 years ago on the website. No breakfast, even though it was advertised. Bathroom door doesn’t close. No exercise room, which was also advertised. Hallway rugs are stained and gross. Room smells musty. You can hear the noise from the pool throughout the hotel. We heard every word of the room next door’s conversation. Room was not cleaned while we were here. We used points and feel they were wasted.
With all the negative reviews I saw prior to our trip, I felt I needed to provide my experience as it was generally positive with this hotel. We were traveling with our 14 year old travel softball team group for a tournament. We read the reviews and got a little worried. This is an older facility yes, but it was a great value compared to other hotels in the area and we simply needed a place to sleep for one night and this filled the need perfectly at a great price. It had a very nice common area for the adults in our group to gather, eat, enjoy an adult beverage or 2 after a day of softball. The kids with us enjoyed the indoor pool and water slide. The little interaction I had with front desk staff was positive and friendly. Again, this is an older, very basic facility when it comes to the rooms themselves. The common area was above average aside from the couches/chairs in the common areas could use replacing. This facility fit our needs at a great price for the time of year compared to other facilities. If all you need and are looking for is a decent place to sleep at a reasonable price, this will be all you need.…
Upon entering the room none of the light switches turned the lights on, you have to use the switch on the lamps which were extremely dusty. Mattresses are old and you could hear the springs when sitting on the bed, it was noisy. The main reason I booked this place was for the indoor pool and hot tubs, the hot tubs were a huge disappointment!! The water was only warm, they were the coldest hot tubs I’ve ever been in and half of the jets were not working and the ones that did work were extremely weak. The pool area was crowded for most of our evening due to a birthday party which left us waiting hours to use it. And there was long black hairs on the shower wall.
I hate doing bad reviews, this wasn’t a nice hotel. It has a great pool, but the whole place is old. And poorly kept. It has carpets, and it’s not as clean as we would like it. The carpets and the room. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a dump. But it’s not great.
Bed bug infestation in room 1241, woke up to lots of bed bugs crawling in both beds, on walls and who knows where else. not happy, got moved to another room which was fine but traumatized from the first night.
