The room wasn't so bad for the price. Just expect to not sleep due to constant street racing. If i didn't have an 8 month old & almost 2 yr old waking up crying all hours of the night due to noise; it could be fun. My husband is navy and is used to aircraft flying 12 ft over his face. So he slept fine!

The lobby is beautiful, and that must be all they care about. The room was average, but there was mildew on the shower grout and on the sink stopper. The tv cable system was messed up the entire stay and repeated calls did no good; the blame was on the cable company; tough luck guest! SOOOO not the standard I expect from IHG!

Being a pet friendly hotel with an indoor pool, this hotel was a perfect fit for our short trip to the area. The hotel's lobby was very clean, somewhat dated; however, I greatly enjoy the older architecture and design so that wasnt an issue for us. Our room was clean, nothing amiss, no issues. Traffic outside wasnt much of an issue as we stayed during the week. Parking was plentiful. We were able to park near the closest entrance to access our room, with ease of taking our dogs out for potty breaks in a grassy area of the parking lot. Our 2 small dogs enjoyed being able to travel and spend much time with us, even sitting poolside while our children swam. The staff were pleasant and kind. Spanish speaking maid. Being bilingual, I was able to communicate with her. She was kind, answered brief questions and was very helpful. Our waitress at breakfast was very sweet and a pleasure! She made great recommendations on the breakfast and was helpful. Front desk staff were very accommodating. Provided extra pool towels, obtained additional stock in back that were sold out on the shelf from their little market/pantry area so we could purchase and our needs met. They even mailed our child's bathing suit she mistakenly left hanging in a closet! We greatly enjoyed our stay and look forward to doing so again in the future. Thank you all for a great experience! I researched this hotel, it is rated number 1 on this site. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I reserved rooms for my entire team (12) . Everyone had the same comments, dirty, unkempt, peeling wall paper, trashy on the outside with cigarette butts sitting there in plain site for 3 days. I am aware of the workforce shortage but there were cobwebs on my ceiling. The rooms were unacceptable on every level.

The hotel - from the outside - looks like an old department store. Inside, the lobby is 1970s - but clean. The rooms - I mean, beyond dumpy. I don't know how anyone can rate them otherwise. The walls are all messed up. The carpets stained. The box springs stained. Everything is 40 years dates - and just horrible. The pillows - harder than a rock. Also, there was a hair on the bed (it happens) and a piece of toilet paper - unsettling. And the baby next door was loud - no sound insulation. I'm not sure how IHG allows this hotel to represent it. Wow. The front desk person was nice. It's cheap on IHG points - but still not worth it.

I must say the Crown Plaza Hickory is a wonder stay. The staff is wonderful, but I must say Jackie is doing an excellent job. I noticed the she is Technically and Knowledgeable at her duties and Responsibilities. As a business client I’ve meet a lot of hotel staff that fumbles a lot, but since my stay I noticed she’s a all around Professional. Over my months of being at the hotel I noticed the passion she has in training her subordinates and even her peers. I can only she has a wonderful and Excellent Leader Traits, and isn’t afraid to excel in her position. Very quick to react to any problems and not afraid to address any short coming issues. A place to bring my 60 plus workers to be comfortable for work during our extended stay anytime in the near future.

Wife and I took a suite as it was her birthday trip. Very nice two rooms as well as two complete baths. Shower water pressure was very good. We were able to get rid of most light, but still some creeped in. Internet download speed measured with Speedtest.net was about 35 Mbps and upload about 25 Mbps. Make certain to purchase the breakfast when reserving as it was the best breakfast we had our whole trip.

We have stayed at this hotel twice before. Both times were great. This time it is horrible. We were put in a ground floor room when we were told that, although we couldn’t be guarantee the same room we had before, we would be in the general area which was an upper floor. I am very claustrophobic and needed a room where I could see out. As the room is on the bottom floor it is dark and claustrophobic. The room is filthy. There is a dead bug stuck to the curtain. It smells so strongly of stale smoke that I actually threw up. A woman name Devon checked us in. She was unwilling to try to help us. When I called and told her how badly the room smelled of cigarettes, she didn’t respond at all. We have stayed at the Crown Plaza in Ventura, Ca and Pensacola, FL. Never like this and never again.…

I made sure I took at least 20 mg of Melatonin nightly to fall asleep because the traffic is so loud and frustrating! Mufflers, noise from big trucks, and motorcycles will keep you up late and wake you early. I loved off busy streets in South Florida and this noise from traffic was much more excessive! It was non-stop until about 2 a.m. The A/C also rattled all night. The room was dated. The bathtub drain was slow which caused hhe tub to fill up while I was taking a shower. For no apparent reason, the television intermittently lost connection and didn’t always work the last 24 hrs. of our say. One guest was seen smoking a joint in the stairwell facing state road 70 while the next day another (or same guest?) smoked in a room in our hallway which led to the entire hallway and our room reeking of the skunk weed. We did report it to a young man at the front desk. Not sure how they handle that. I know the traffic and guests’ recreational habits are not within the control of hotel management. Just know, for the lower price, you’re risking a good night’s sleep. Find a place set back from or OFF the main roads. When my husband said “Crowne Plaza,” I imagined a really nice, high-end hotel. This is comparable to a Motel 8 or, as I jokingly said to my husband, the Bates Motel. You get what you pay for.…

Property obviously understaffed. Restaurant not open. They charged $2 for a bag breakfast which should have been complimentary. Room not adequately supplied. No maid service unless requested. I discussed all of this with the manager after I got home and he was very helpful. Agreed that breakfast bags should be complimentary. I guess I was a little jaded going in because of the name of the Hotel, I expected excellence.
