We were disappointed in our stay. The room was tired and the bathroom was very small and in need on maintenance - walk were chipped and door jambs rusty. There was an oversized jet tub that used up most of the space and was difficult for a senior to get in and out off. The price at 89.00 plus tax was not worth it.

The room was clean, the area was nice pretty close to everything. The bed was comfy. The jacuzzi in our room could have used some cleaning but wasn’t horriable. Overall it was okay. Would stay here again.

The staff were nice and the room had newer carpet. The room was fine, but dated and is in need of TLC. The overall feel was a little sketchy. I would not feel safe staying here alone as a female.I don not know how this hotel is a conference center as it does not appear to attract businesses, etc. There was blood on one of the exterior doors the whold stay that was not cleaned off. The breakfast was fine, but the second day, it was not being attended to and was empty. I don't think I would stay here again.

Dear all, This is a comfy place to stay, big rooms, comfy high beds, nice surroundings close to a couple of restaurants and a sports bar which is part of a country wide chain. Staff friendly and a decent hot breakfast for free! Good local amenities and some interesting restaurants within walking distance. Lots of good shops local plus the ubiquitous Walmat

YUCK - stay somewhere else. Pros: Reasonable price, Close to I-40 and many restaurants, Comfortable bed Cons: Filthy - it looked like the hallways and stairs had never been cleaned with black grubby walls and corners. Poor Security - lots of seedy looking people hanging around the back entrance - even late at night. No key card entrance - open doors for anyone to wonder in. Dated/Worn - our room had old fiberboard furniture that had many rubbed/broken edges. The inside curtain on the window was shredded. The "free" breakfast was non-existent. There weren't even coffee cups. We will NEVER stay there again and recommend you find somewhere else also.

My wife and I were on a furniture hunting trip to the Hickory Furniture Mart, and this Property seemed nice and quite close to the Mart. Pictures looked nice, and it seemed a good choice. It was a lousy choice. To begin with, there is no mention anywhere on their website that there is NO ELEVATOR, so guests must muscle their luggage up metal stairs to the second floor. If handicapped, only ground level rooms will do. Unlike most hotels, access from the outside requires a key card to unlock an outer door. Not here. These stairwell access doors not only don't have locks, they are left propped open, allowing anyone to come in off the street whether they are guests or not.In fact, we found two people who clearly weren't guests squatting by an ice machine at the foot of the stairs charging a cellphone. When we got up to the second floor landing, (again, NO elevator) we were shocked to find the clearly marked fire doors on both the left and right had been propped open. Someone had jammed a ball point pen into a hole in the floor to keep the doors open. Housekeeping, to make it easier to move their carts down the hall? We left for a while, but when we came back, they were still propped open, so I closed them. We went out to dinner, and when we came back, they are propped open again. The room was adequate enough for the price, but the experience with the lack of security, the disregard for fire codes, and the really rundown nature of the place means we will NEVER use this hotel again, ever. We have stayed in hotels all across America and Europe. Some are better than others, but you at least can reasonably expect basic security and safety. Not here.

The room and halls were rank with stale cigarette odor. There was mold around the bathtub, cracked plaster on the walls, and the room was dirty. My husband went to the car after dark and was approached by a man looking for money. Don’t stay here!

This was our "go to" place for years whenever we visited Hickory, but this past weekend was awful. Where should I begin? The first room smelled like someone had smoked a carton of cigarettes and a few cigars just before we got there. No amount of Lysol or Febreeze helped at all. The "accessible" bathroom had mold in the shower stall and there were cracks in the shower stall as well. We asked to be moved and they accommodated us by giving us another accessible room. However, in the room next to our other room, there was a dog that barked all night so we didn't get much sleep at all for the 3 nights we were there. We love dogs and have our own but they don't bark all night. We found out that the dog belongs to an employee who lives there so they know the poor thing barks all the time. I think we should've been offered a future discount just for the inconvenience. At some point a man came knocking at the room next to us, (the room with the dog), asking whomever was in there to let him in because he was bleeding and then said he broke his leg. He said he didn't care who she had in there but he wanted to come in. The front desk apparently called the HKY police to came and talked to the man but we have no idea what happened after that. I think he had the wrong room but again, the dog barked and barked and barked. Also, the 'accessible" bathroom was OK except for the toddler size toilet. I'm a short person who has had knee surgery and that toilet is NOT an accessible toilet, unless you ARE a toddler. The tub was easy access thanks to the bars to hold on to. It was clean but there had been leaks from upstairs so water marks were visible on the ceiling. Our bed (which was VERY comfortable) was made and towels changed on Saturday but nothing was done on Sunday. The towels were right where we had left them so of course there were no clean ones though we probably could've gotten some from the front desk. We did see a sign that towels would not be changed unless we asked but again, nobody came to clean on Sunday. The lady at the front desk was very nice and helped as much as she could but all in all, this was our last time to stay that that motel. I'll pay more money and stay elsewhere.

We tried to stay at this hotel for a week while attending a school function with our children. Upon check in the room was not cleaned well and stinky. By the looks of the place, and the price we figured this is what you get. I bought some air freshener and had my kids wear their shoes on the carpet, or else it turned their feet black. I wiped down what I could with disinfecting wipes. We stayed away from the walls with obvious debris on them. The ceiling and part of a wall had a splatter on it that we debated was either blood or bbq sauce. It was a struggle overlooking the super worn and peeling toilet seat and the mold stains under the sink but still doable, until I awoke to roaches on the wall! I immediately went to the front desk and let them know. They said ok and allowed me to check out. We moved to a much nicer holiday inn. The staff at quality suites didn't seem to care much that their hotel has roaches. I wasn't offered anything for this disgusting inconvenience. I was still charged all the fees. Don't be fooled by other reviews. This place is a dump. Breakfast is a basket of expired muffins. I'm just hoping my kids don't get sick.

As always a great stay! I have spent over a dozen nights at this location over the past couple of years and I'm never disappointed. Friendly and 'on the ball' staff, clean rooms, quiet area. I always take a king room/suite along the back of the large complex, across from cracker barrel. They've always been able to put me in the area of choice. Always beyond helpful!! See you again very soon. The only thing that needs to be done here is to clean up the grounds. For me thanks s not a bit g deal. But my Mom? My family in general? Would have driven on by. Put just a little money in your pool and grounds? That should do it. For me? Keep it the same. My little secret! **Breakfast was a really good option pre-pandemic. It had not restarterd as of fall 2020
