Absolute paradise! This property, stand alone, is no less than enchanted. The views and spectacular sunsets are beyond what we could have imagined. We stayed in the Red Cedar Cabin, clean and very comfortable. The delivered breakfast was delish. I had a massage by David in the art gallery-best I've ever had. My husband is the outdoorsy one and the...

I spent a lot of time trying to find the perfect place to spend our 5 year anniversary and I am so happy we chose Fire Mountain. I was looking for a place that is quiet and has great mountain views, yet convenient to the town of Highlands. Fire Mountain met all of our expectations! The views are spectacular. And...

Clean, comfortable, and relaxing is Fire Mountain! It offers everything you could possibly want for a perfect get-away. The property affords breath-taking views and gentle paths for leisurely walks. In addition, its location is ideal for day trips to amazing waterfalls, all degrees of hiking, and panoramic vistas. Thanks to Hiram and Mathew, who have a seemingly unlimited list of...

I wanted to 'get away' and just relax, but still have the option of visiting The Highlands for dinner and shopping as this was a surprise for my wife's birthday. Fire Mountain was just the place to stay. The views were truly incredible, the staff very professional and accomodating and the attention to detail was perfect. I do not believe...

loved the owner-operators. Everything was very clean. A few things I would have changed: 1. if the jacuzzi is going to be the focal point of the room, make sure there is enough hot water to fill it. This was not the case in my cabin. 2. no tvs or even a radio? seriously? 3. none of the cabins really...

We appreciate these guests taking the time to write this review. My fiancé surprised me with a weekend stay at Fire Mountain. The accommodations and beautiful scenery were spectacular. Our cabin was spacious and cozy with a great fireplace and huge jacuzzi tub. The staff were more than helpful. I would highly recommend this for a romantic getaway.

Ours (my husband & I) was a spur-of-the-moment, need to get away from lots of stress. We thought about Atlanta (briefly), then a friend suggested Highlands. I began to check out lodging on the internet and found Fire Mountain. Sure a very different experience than Atlanta would have been. There were few rooms available but Red Thunder was one and...

Fire Mountain is a 15-minute drive outside of Highlands, but the serenity and beauty make it well worth the drive. It's a unique property, and its website will show the different housing options available. We stayed in the Laurel Treehouse, and it was a very basic room. But that wasn't an issue for us as we were never in it,...

We found Fire Mountain in a fall edition of Southern Living. Site unseen, we booked a room at the Inn. We were looking forward to our stay but somewhat unsure and anxious about what we would find. As we drove onto the property we found the surroundings very scenic and natural. We were immediately relaxed and pleased to be there....

We were thrilled that their 10th anniversary stay at Fire Mountain provided “An Anniversary to Remember”! We loved that they found the surroundings to be very scenic and natural and that they were immediately relaxed and pleased to be here. They stayed in Nantahala in the Fire Mountain Inn on the sunrise side of the mountain which they found to...

This was our second stay at Fire Mountain. We love the serenity, the beautiful accommodations, and the gracious hospitality of the staff at Fire Mountain. It is close enough to Highlands to enjoy the fine restaurants and interesting shops. It also is a convenient location to get out and enjoy the beautiful mountains, woodlands and waterfalls of western North Carolina....
