This hotel is adorable and the staff was so friendly! The rooms are lovely, clean, and they have great bathroom products. We also loved the Oak Steakhouse. This is our new favorite place to stay in Highlands!!
Hands down the best place to stay in Highlands, NC. My wife and I stayed at Skyline Lodge for our Anniversary and it only exceeded expectations. We have stayed at other places in this area but this has been our favorite and will return. Memorable from start to finish and the staff was wonderful. Feels like you are miles away while so close to everything Highlands has to offer. Oak Steakhouse being onsite gives you no reason to want to leave the property. Do yourself a favor and book with Skyline Lodge!
from the moment i pulled in the parking lot and traveled up the picture perfect road to Skyline Lodge, I could feel my blood pressure lower. Set on the elevated peak with the sounds of streams underneath, there is no better place to stay in the highlands / cashiers area. the spacious room and atmosphere that the team has built at skyline is wonderful and the dinner at Oak steakhouse did not dissapoint.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay. The lodge was remote but easy to get to and had beautiful views. The room was comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The Oak Steakhouse restaurant was a little pricey but very good. I would like to stay there again.
The lodge is just as pictured. We stayed 3 nights right after thanksgiving. All the Christmas decorations were up. There is complimentary coffee in the lobby every morning and fresh pastries. The views are incredible! There are plenty of waterfalls nearby. It’s minutes from downtown Highlands and close to Cashiers too. The staff is wonderful! They really make the whole experience enjoyable. By the time you leave you feel like you’ve known them for years. I can’t say enough about the service and smile we received from every single person. We had dinner at the Oak Steakhouse. It was very good. The entrees are large enough to share and the sides are enough for 3-4 people. We went back the next night and had charcuterie at the bar with a couple drinks. It was a great way to have a lighter supper. The bartenders and waitstaff were all so friendly and the service was great. I am sensitive to smells & the first room they gave us had a musty odor. I asked about it and we were immediately shown other available rooms so we could choose a new one. The one thing I really didn’t want to leave behind was the heated bathroom floors! We definitely want to go back. It was the perfect getaway!…
We stayed at Skyline Lodge because we were having work done on our home. We needed a dog friendly hotel and this place was perfect for us! The room was very clean, beautiful, recently renovated and offered nice little personal touches. The property is tucked away in the mountains and has amazing views. We will suggest this hotel to anyone looking for a posh mountain hotel.
This is a historic lodge with a small number of rooms, each with a view. Originally built in 1920's, enlarged and updated in 1965, and totally rehabilitated in 2021. We stayed in room 210, of the original wing, last room on top. We had a private porch with stunning view on the valley and surrounding mountains. That room was great for two people. The newer wing has larger rooms, for bigger families. The food is excellent at the Oak restaurant , which is part of the lodge set up. All staff at Lodge and Oak were extremely nice and ready to help. If you want something different the standard resort hotel/motel, stay at Skyline Lodge.
We stayed at Skyline Lodge over Thanksgiving holiday. It was our first time visiting Highlands, North Carolina and we can't recommend staying at Skyline enough. It is quiet and the views from our balcony were fantastic. They had a fire going in the courtyard all the time and the holiday decorations were amazing. The staff at the front desk was very helpful and kind. They had delicious breakfast sandwiches available for purchase as well as fresh coffee brewing in the mornings. It is a short drive from downtown and all of the wonderful hikes that this area provides. I cannot recommend Skyline enough!
My husband and I had an amazing time with our pup Hudson. Savannah, Peyton, Jonathan and McKenzie were top-notch along with the other staff members whose names I did not get. Everyone was friendly and overly accommodating. The room was perfect and the food at the Oak steakhouse was delicious. My husband and I look so forward to coming back.
This is my second visit to Skyline where there were maintenance issues in the room (broken well pump last visit and broken lighting and slow internet this visit). I get the sense that the staff tries really hard to please but can't find the people to really maintain the hotel to something like a Hilton standard, when they charge substantially more. All that said, really cool concept - I hope they figure out their operations.
