Try to get a room on 2+ floor. I was on First - no direct view of beach, but you can see just past it into the ocean just fine. Some people don't want to see the hustle of the beach.

Stayed here for a week for Spring Break. The 2 BR unit was spacious, great layout, well stocked with a great breezeway / balcony to eat outside. Also the master bathroom has a large jacuzzi tub! However, the bathroom could have been a tiny bit...More
I rented a 3 bedroom unit for 7 days facing the ocean so we had great views. We happened to visit during a very bad storm so that was not great. As the storm abated we were able to enjoy more.

What a wonderful week! This was my first experience on the Outer Banks and it was great. The unit was clean and well stocked with dishes, towels and linens. The staff was helpful and friendly. I can't wait to come back!

Walking on the beach is very nice during the fall months. The condos are located right on the beach and there are steps leading right onto the beach. There are stores to shop, movies to go to and lots of eatery places to dine or take out and relax back at the condo. The indoor pool is lovely as well. Enjoy your fall stay!

There are high dunes between the buildings and the beach. Consequently, you have to go over them. You can get to the walkway over the dunes via elevator; the walkway also goes to a small pavilion from which you can view the beach. But to get onto the beach itself you have to go down the stairs from the dune (maybe 8), unfortunately.
There is a public beach access between OBBC complexes I and II; maybe there is direct access there; I don't know.
Other than the beach itself, all units now have elevator access. If you get a third floor oceanfront 3 BR unit, or a 2nd or 3rd floor oceanfront 2 BR unit, you have a superb view from the unit's deck, if that's any consolation. It really is a very nice complex, and the 3 BRs are extremely spacious.
