First,I didn't realize that Manteo was on the sound not on the Outer Banks. That's Ok, I just did a lot of driving. Manteo is a cute town.I spent 2 nites in the Tranquil Inn and 2 in the Cameron Inn. Big difference. Tranquillity Inn is in a nice location, some wear and tear, butclean. They both were B&B's.Breakast was disappointing at Tranquil Inn,a sausage biscuit, like you would get in a 12 pack in the grocery store, packaged pastries, fruit,OJ coffee. Even the OJ was terrible. All thus in a Styrofoam container. Wine and cheese was also served in a Styrofoam cup and a baggie of cheese and crackers.Cameron Inn was very nice, youcan tell alot of care was taken in the room, very nicely decorated.Breakfast was served out on the porch(my choice),freshly cooked, pictures posted. There was drinks, snacks, and cake available all the time.I didn't see anyone, all contact was done by phone.I only saw the person who cooked breakfast. Also a picture of resident cat,Jack, who was great company.I know times are trying with Covid, but Cameron Inn clearly was the winner here. …
I always go to the Outer Banks for my Birthday every year and love staying here. Even though Covid has limited some of the service at the hotel the service was still amazing. The only thing is that did not work in my room was the microwave, but that is ok.
Stayed 2 nights with a friend . This place was clean and you could smell that it had been cleaned . The pool was very clean and well kept . The front office was friendly and helpful, especially Scott and Scott. This hotel was very convenient to my favorite restaurants. I have 4 stars cause the rooms need to be updated some . I will stay there again
Checked into a room Friday night because I thought I had a reservation. I didn't so I checked in for a room for the 2 of us. When I got back to the car the wife said we already had a reservation at another hotel. Went right back in and tried to cancel. They wouldn't do it, charged us 2 nights and we never stayed there.
The motel has some positives, close to beach access, and friendly staff. The pool area leaves a lot to be desired. Signage indicates pets not allowed in pool area however we encountered 2 Pitbulls running loose around the pool deck. Grown men passed out at patio tables with Glass beer bottles everywhere. Pool needs a good cleaning, we could see the Scum line from our room. Late night partying with screaming well into the early morning hours. Pool area needs to be monitored and managed by hotel management. It's a lawsuit waiting to happen.
