We stayed here two nights in March when rate was absolute bargain. From what I see now rates are much higher. This is older tired looking property that was getting cosmetic updating. Weird elevator to elevator but right on beach. Pics were view from our room
My wife and I came for a weekend getaway, and there’s a lot of great things about this hotel, but a few things to be aware of too. Not all rooms face the ocean, so make sure when you book you have an ocean view specified if that’s what you want. The majority of the rooms though are on the ocean side. Ground floor rooms will be mostly obstructed from an ocean view because of the sand dune between you and the beach, but you can walk out from your room to the boardwalk to the beach. Third or fourth rooms are most ideal for an unobstructed view. The balconies are a little worn, but they do provide two chairs for you to sit on outside, bring more if you want more people out there. If you want to check in before 4 PM, there is an additional charge, so beware if you plan to come early, you will pay for it. The pool is on the front side of the hotel, not the beach side. The boardwalk from the beach will drop you right at the pool if you plan to go from one to the other, but the pool is open seasonally (not year round). There is a full service restaurant open from 4-9 PM with a bar, so you can get a bite to eat or a beverage without having to leave the hotel. Parking is regulated, they do give you a parking pass to put in your dash. If you plan to bring more than one vehicle per room, check with the front desk. There is an auxiliary parking lot across the street, but they’ll still be looking for your permit. Miller’s Restaurant across the street is excellent, I would recommend a meal there. Rooms are well maintained. The bathroom is a bit small, but makes good use of the space. A tall mini-fridge and microwave are in each room. They have newer large Samsung TVs in the rooms (probably at least 50”), and a good cable lineup to choose from. Overall, a good hotel, will return when we come in the future. …
Had a very nice stay here. Everything clean, friendly staff, ocean view rooms, and a private walkway to the beach. Close to the Wright Brothers Monument and restaurants and shopping in either direction from the parking lot makes this a great location.
Ideal location for beach or Wright Brothers. Open the side entrance door, walk over the sand dunes, and the ocean and gazebo are right there. Bags of ice are complementary. Guests are charged for early check-in. There was an employee spraying the halls and door knobs with a disinfectant, although I do not know how often this is done. The price was extremely reasonable. The staff contacted us at least three times to ask if there was anything we needed. I thought this was very professional and class The largest drawback is that the overall hotel is 'dated.' Although some of the room's decor was more modern, the ceilings, walls, and ice machines are old. The "gift' shop" could use some 'help" by providing an assortment of snacks. We would stay here again if we return to the Outer Banks.…
Spent three nights at The Comfort Inn for a Winter getaway. Everything was perfect. Well lit upfront parking. Easy beach access. Large clean room. Balcony for reading in the afternoon. The mattress was super comfortable. Our first night, we ate dinner at the hotel. The seafood platter and hamburger were both good. In fact, the seafood platter was far superior to what we received at a seafood restaurant later in our stay. I look forward to our next stay at this hotel.
