This location is a small, fairly dated hotel; however, it is clean, and the staff are very polite. Our room seemed to run "warm" no matter the setting, and PLEASE put ventilation in the bathroom. Everything felt "damp" due to no ventilation.
Breakfast is simple, but enough. Overall, for the price and location, I would recommend it

We stayed two nights with our dog while visiting Morganton and South Mountains. Staff were friendly and nice to the dog and it was very clean. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was good. Location is convenient along US-64 and right off I-40. Reasonable price and pet fee. We would stay here again, especially if traveling with the dog.

I can not believe the way i was treated by the night person at this hotel !!!!!first of all she was asleep on the couch in the lobby.Second of all after 10 minutes or so trying to get in she did not say anything to me .....no greeting no anything just stared at me like"what do you want" .Wow this was my stay on the 22nd of may i believe .Well i told the attendant in the morning about my experience he said he would speak with someone so i left it at that.As for my stay on the 28th with the family in tow i thought for sure it would be a different experience .NOT.....my family and i were greeted the same way again not a word except for you've been here you know where your room is right?my wife was livid to say the least .We reserved the room on ccard but wished to pay w/ cash she couldn't do that?Either stay.location was the reason i picked this hotel as i just opened a new business in Morganton Nc but after this treatment i guess i will find anther hotel ..Too bad the rest of the people were nice...tried to call the general manager several times but to no avail .GUESS CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT THEIR SPECIALTY OR CONCERN JOEL ALEANDRA

Booked a room from a site for comfort inn & suites. Actually talked to a person from the site on the phone. Said I need a room with two beds and a pull out couch or enough room for a roll away bed. No probably, I asked is the pool open, he says yes there pool is open. Do they have breakfast, yes they do he says. Well as you guessed none of the above was correct at all. Pool closed, breakfast was a prepackaged thanks to covid-19 breakfast, the room.... Two beds, no pull out couch no room for a roll away bed. I was beside myself. I was as expected upset. I went down stairs to speak with the front desk. On my way to the front desk I calm myself because I know that it wasn't anyone here that I talked to when getting the room. So as I got to the front desk I explained the whole issue from the pool to the room. The gentleman behind the front desk was for apologetic because of my situation. He then proceeds to look at all available options to resolve the issue that again they did not cause. At first the options he gave me would have caused me to spend more money then I really wanted to, so I said I'll just cancel the reservation. He tells me to go ahead and give the website a call and he would see what else he could work out. So after going back and forth with the website people, and of course they did nothing wrong. I go back inside comfort inn tell the desk clerk that I'm just going to cancel. He says I think I may have an idea. He has a room with a king size bed with a pull out couch and enough room to put in a roll away bed, and says I'm going to give you the king suite for the same price you paid for the room you had reserved. So all in all it worked out. I finally got a room that I was happy with, and all because someone went above and beyond to make sure his customers had a great experience while staying at the comfort inn & suites of morganton nc. And the folks at Comfort Inn & Suites call this person Nate, but I call him a diamond in the rough. He greatly exceeded my expectations!!!! That kind of service and treatment is what will keep me coming back!!!

Due to unforeseen incident we were left to stay at this comfort inn for 3 nights. The front desk woman and male throughout our stay made us feel very comfortable and at easy. Very helpful when it came to ordering food and finding a taxi when we needed it. I am happy we ended up here. Couldn’t have asked for better hospitality. I would recommend this place to another that needs a rest during their travels.

We booked the comfort inn because we knew it had an indoor pool and we’re hoping to spend the day with our grandchildren enjoying the facilities. When we arrived we were told the pool was closed due to Covid, even though all Covid restrictions have been lifted. The place had an odd odor to it, but it was worse when we got to our room. But because we had arrived late at night we didn’t want to go look for another room elsewhere. Buyer beware

We reserved a handicap accessible room, a few months in advance at this “pet friendly hotel“. Upon arrival I was advised “pets are not allowed in the handicap rooms.“ It was Christmas day, so I had no choice but to go ahead and accept whatever room they would give me. Of course they put me in a non-handicap room. That means non-handicapped people get treated one way and handicapped get treated another way. How is that not discrimination?

But wait, it gets worse. The front doors are big, heavy, sliding doors and do not work. I’ve attached a picture of the sign that they hung on the door advising you that you have to open and close these big heavy doors yourself. Which, of course is extremely difficult for someone who’s handicapped. Even though I requested in the booking to have a room close to ANY exit door, and I asked at check in, the guy gave me a room in the middle of the floor directly between all exits… Which means anytime I need to walk my dog I have to walk about as far as you can possibly have to walk to get to an exit.

The story isn’t over yet. The room was poorly cleaned and in disrepair. A big hole in the wall behind the door was poorly repaired and the materials are falling out. The bathroom paint is peeling and falling into the tub.

To top it all off, the vending machines on my floor were not working. All in all this place provided a dreadful, miserable experience.

Our vacation began with finding out that hotels.com never sent our booking to the hotel. So no reservation had ever been done so the hotel was running out of rooms that night and had already ran out of the room we had booked. After over two hours of the Hotel Concierge and myself calling Hotels.com and getting transferred and hung up on several times, Nate saved the day and got us one of the last rooms left and helped us squeeze in with a roll away cott. He helped make our stay as comfortable as possible. All the staff at Comfort Inn & Suites in Morganton were extremely friendly and very helpful. The hotel stay was quite and our room was nice. Not a lot of traffic noise either with it's location. If ever back in Morganton, we will definitely plan to stay here but we will call directly, no more "third party bookings".

In March I had a family emergency for which I had to travel with no planning. I found out about the emergency Sunday, I was on a flight Monday morning. Having not planned ahead, I didn't have any hotel reservations, and I asked my husband who was back at home to help me find a place that would accept me in the middle of the night. He found that the Comfort Inn Morganton would do 24 hour check in. I arrived In Morganton around 3am, long past the time many other hotels in the area allow check in. A gentleman named Tu (I hope I spelled it right) quickly checked me in, for which I was very grateful. My room was immaculate, the hotel was quiet, and the bed was comfortable. I got a great few hours of sleep before I hit the road again the next morning. The location is convenient, and just down the street was a Denny's where I had breakfast.

Clean and comfy rooms. Arrived late to a warm welcome from Nathaniel at the front desk who patiently and graciously helped sort out a booking mistake (that was totally our fault). Was happy to be here at the end of a long day.
