We've stayed in quite a few B&B's over the years but Sobotta is on a the short list as one of the very best. Impeccably maintained and decorated by the owners, who are gracious, friendly and engaging. One can walk around this stately home for hours just enjoying the little nuances that surround you. Sabotta is perfectly located, a short...

We had a most enjoyable two-night stay at this beautiful inn with four of our friends. All three rooms that we used were lovely. JR & Pam were wonderful hosts and we all enjoyed visiting with them and getting very useful information about things to do in the area. The breakfasts were delicious! Highly recommend this B&B. We hope to...

We made a short visit here after driving down the Blue Ridge Parkway. JR made us very welcome and showed us around this lovely house, perfectly restored and with beautiful antiques. Both JR and Robin shared a lot of interesting local knowledge with us and pointed us in the direction of some wineries. We have just toured from Washington DC...

We had left Roanoke and travelled the blue ridge parkway as far as the Blue Ridge music centre and discovered there was a concert that evening with Alison Krauss Ricky Scaggs and others. We got tickets and drove over to Subotta Manor where we had a reservation. JR was very welcoming, helped us settle into lovely rooms quickly so we...

After just submitting a final draft for a doctoral dissertation and completing a days work at our jobs, we were gradually heading up to Ohio to visit family and encountered a bad accident on I-77. So, exhausted from working all day, we decided to pull off and stay in nearby Mt Airy. I ran across Sobotta Manor Bed & Breakfast...

We have stayed here twice, and found it warm and welcoming. The home is a local landmark that has been meticulously maintained. The grounds look like something you might see at a high end theme park. The food is delicious and plentiful, and special needs or allergies are accommodated. Our home away from home in Mt. Airy.
