There is no notice that this property is under major renovations! The girl at reception was like " Didn't they tell you we were under construction?" I said "no." She goes well "there is but, I haven't heard them all day." However, when we arrived all we heard was banging until sunset. In addition, all of the vending machine were down at the hotel and we were told the elevator would be going down for 4hrs for maintenance and certification. There was dirt on the floor and some dead bugs. Lights needs to be dusted and wiped down. The dust was building up on them. Customer service was lacking. The hallways had an odor and definitely needed a cleaning and some Fabreze air freshener. Continental breakfast starts at 7am. This really should be at 6am to allow for traveling people or just people who would like to walk on the beach at sunrise. For the positives: The beds were comfortable and the wifi, tv, microwave, coffee maker, and mini refrigerator worked well. The shower had adequate pressure and had plenty of hot water. Towels were fold nicely and made a nice presentation. The view from Tahiti room 217 was great with a nice balcony overlooking the outdoor pool and beach. Two Adirondack chairs and small table made it nice to sit outside.…
Exactly as advertised. Great beachfront, no frills lodging with attentive staff. Balconies have heavy duty rocking chairs. We’ll maintained indoor and outdoor pool with hot tub. On-site parking included, by permit. We did not stay for the breakfast.
Must deleted my last review, this place sucked for customer service. When you schedule a ocean view you shouldn't get a road front w/ 2 windows for another 55 dollars for a pet friendly room!! Room was supposed to be renovated, toilet was from the 80's,flight fixtures rusted, did have a new sink though! Will check next door if we return.
We enjoyed our recent trip to Ocean Isle Inn immensely! The Inn sits right on the beach with a beautiful outdoor pool and amazing views. We also enjoyed the indoor pool and spa/hot tub. The continental breakfast was perfect and the breakfast room was neat and well stocked. The staff was very nice. Just a couple things that we think could be improved upon...1. Housekeeping. Housekeeping was not being offered for some reason....we were instructed to leave towels and trash outside our door and they would be picked up and fresh towels left. We did this and didn't receive our fresh towels. We had to go get some - and TP- at the front desk. We were told if we needed our room cleaned to let them know and it would be scheduled. We did as requested and never received the service. At the bare minimum you should be refreshing towels, TP, and trash bags for people. We shouldn't be chasing these things down. It would also be nice to have a coin laundry on site, or a place to hang swim suits and beach towels. More luggage racks would be helpful too.....it took us a few trips to get our belongings to the room and back down to the care upon check out. The beds are great! Showers are great. Just some little things to make it better. We already booked a return trip for November!…
As a kid i grew up going to Ocean Isle Inn with my family. I have many fond memories of this location. There are still a lot of things to like about the location today. First of all the view is amazing. I love the oceanfront balconies overlooking the coastline. They are nothing short of magical. Staff were also friendly and helpful. I interacted with many staff members and felt each one was personable and professional. Many parts of the property have been updated or cared for which is also nice. Also the prices are reasonable compared to other oceanfront hotels. However, I felt there were some problems. There were parts of the room that had been neglected. The lampshades had mildew on them for instance. I typically stay at Hilton properties and this felt like a downgrade. The tub and sinks had some stains and didn't look kept up. There were some stains on the curtains and a strange red substance and dirt was on a lamp base. Also smoking was a problem. Folks smoked everywhere. On the balconies, in the parking area, and by the beach. I could never find a spot by the water where i wasn't constantly inhaling smoke. It was awful. I think that partly speaks to the crowd who vacations here and i realize part of that is out of the control of the property but it still was a major concern. The sheets were also not very soft or comfortable which was a disappointment. There is no easy way to load luggage as there is no ramp or walkway to some of the parking spots. The indoor pool could really use an update. I'm not sure much has been changed with it since i was here as a kid. One other annoying thing was going down to the breakfast room to find the tv blasting Fox news. Not the most welcoming space but i wasn't surprised with the crowd the place seems to cater to... Overall i would return in a pinch for the view alone but i am going to find another location for my usual beach vacations.…
We were desperate for a quick beach trip after more than 5 years inland. We had never been to Ocean Isle Beach before but it looked like a perfect solution given that we were passing through Raleigh . We got a great 2nd floor oceanfront room overlooking the outdoor pool, with the ocean mere yards beyond the pool! The room was very clean, the beds comfortable, the in-room appliances and tv all worked properly , the view from the balcony was perfect, the outdoor pool was also a nice option, and the included breakfast was filling. Oh yeah...the rom came with an ocean and perfect weather ;-) We'll be back , hopefully not waiting another 5 years.
Nice location nice staff good food and nice views i enjoyed the breakfast the hot tub make my back feel so good i recommend coming if you have childeren you also have a private beach it feels like at least lol.
What an interesting inn. Check in was quick and easy. They let us check in early. Rooms are clean. Smelled a little musty. Parking was odd for sure. You parked under the inn or across the street. If you park under the inn, it’ll be right for a large car when the lot is full. Location, Location. It’s beautiful where this inn is. Right on the beach. Easy access to ocean. We stayed for one of the BAM half Marathons. We will stay again.
Room was clean and big. Mattresses are super soft & fluffy, not firm. Shower was strong and always hot. Garbage was taken and recieved fresh towels daily. Outdoor pool is not heated and indoor pool & hot tub looked dirty so we didn't use. Breakfast is awful so just skip it and walk 3 mins to DRIFT coffee house. Balcony was perfect for relaxing and beautiful views. Only get the Ocean view rooms...worth any extra money. Easy 2 min walk to the beach from the room. Sat in the garden and gazebo in the mornings with coffee. Maintenance came and fixed our air conditioner quick and no problem. All employees were friendly. Free parking was never a problem..had eyes on our vehicle the whole time. Visiting at a quiet time....it was a perfect quiet vacation for us. No laundry facilities.
We spent 4 nights here. The first night the guests above us were RIDICULOUSLY loud! Sounded like they were moving the furniture (on tile floor) & heavily walking back & forth in the room. It went late into the night & then started up again around 5am. Called front desk & complained around 10pm, nothing changed. When we complained the next morning, we were told that guest had checked out. 2nd night wasn't too bad. But nights 3 & 4 were once again LOUD, marching back & forth. The 4th night, the guests obviously had small child(ren) because all night there was running back & forth, along with heavy boot stomping. It began about 7:30 the next morning. One reason we won't go back, Construction was poor. Walls (we could hear everyone next to us) & floors/ceilings were not made to keep out noise. I know hotels/inns are sometimes loud and you can hear others. But this was absolutely uncalled for. The stomping above us gave me a headache every morning. The breakfast wasn't bad. Juices, tea, couple cereals, waffles, bagels/toast & what looked like egg sandwiches. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was decent and clean. However, the doors to the porch was just a single door - not a sliding glass door. There were windows, but they didn't open. There should be screens on the windows so you could open them and leave them open. There is a parking lot or pool between the rooms & the beach/dunes. Parking wasn't bad, but I am sure it's harder when the Inn is full during the busy seasons.…
