Campground was well kept. Facilities were clean. Each site has a charcoal grill and picnic table and plenty of room for pop up canopy and tent. All site are close to a bathroom and bathhouse. No hot shower. Pet friendly almost every camper had a dog with them. All site are a close walk over the dunes to the beach.... More

We didn't have a reservation, the ranger told us to drive around, pick a spot & come back & tell her what we wanted. Most spots are right out in the open, but a few have a little privacy with small trees/bushes. Clean restrooms, cold showers. Great beach, not crowded & some good shells. Quiet hours start at 9 pm.... More

We stayed in D loop a short walk over the dunes to the beach. Fairly primitive campground but with paved pads. If you read the info in the NPS site, "D" Loop is supposed to be generator free but when we visited, there were a couple of generators running full time in D. Hot showers would have been appreciated.

Great location right along the dunes north of Ocracoke Village. Some of the sites afford some privacy and some back right up to the dunes with pathways to the lovely beach. The place was nearly deserted when I arrived soon after Hurricane Hermine on Labor Day; it's possible that I wouldn't have enjoyed myself quite so much if the place... More

What a beautiful clean quiet camp ground. Located right on the beach, not far from town to restaurants. You can see a billion stars out at night and catch an early morning walk on the beach. The site was on green grass and cleared off nicely. There are great handicapped sites available too.

This is my favorite place to stay on Ocracoke, for few years. I have also stayed in hotel, but I'm more camper guy. You can bring RV, or trailer, plenty of space. Beach access is right here, but be aware of little flys, they biting hard. You have shower and restroom, what else do you need. Fire on the beach... More

Our camping was cut short by a tropical storm. The selection of spots was great when we were there the first of June. I wish I could say more about bugs etc but we were only there one night. We were tent camping in a coleman sun dome with fiberglass poles. The winds were so strong there our tent couldn't... More

This is a review on the campground, not the bugs or heat or wind, things related to nature. As a tent camper there is no better place on Ocracoke but be ready to experience nature. A little planning makes your trip better. **The campground has the best proximity to the beach of any accommodations on the island; 300 yards from... More

We come here every year for the Memorial Day holiday weekend and love it! The beach is mellow and the crowds are always family friendly. There are no hook ups for RV's and the facilities are primative with cold water showers only. We don't mind though since we are self contained in our RV. Our favorite activities are swimming at... I stayed overnight in order to have more time to see Ocracoke Island and enjoyed my stay. The campground sites do NOT have electric or water hookups, but there is, of course, water fountains, showers, and bathrooms with electric located in each section. There are no stairs to get over the dunes to the beach, so be prepared to climb... More
