Although this campsite is still open, they have not cleaned up from the last hurricane. The yard is a mess of garbage and dog poo, bathrooms are filthy, sheet rock cut out from flood damage and underneath full of garbage. Walking outside a total hazard

I will start by saying in the off season this is the only option on Ocracoke or we would not have stayed. I checked the website and also called ahead to check rates and availability, and was quoted a price of 40 something dollars for water and electric. When we arrived we stopped by the office and were advised to...

We are very sorry for your experience. Normally I would take this conversation privately to see if we could fix it or make it right but I feel its important for everyone who reads this review to see this response. We don't take reservations or site assignments in the off season. Each guest is advised that the fence line are...

I have given everywhere in Ocracoke a 5 star rating. This campground is under new management, whom is very polite. Once he has the place fixed up it will deserve the 5 star. It is a great place to rest and cool down but not a destination place. We enjoyed our stay. We were able to ride our bikes to...

Finding the entrance to campground was the first problem; not well marked and the driveway is tucked between the convenience store and golf cart rental. My first impression was somebody's backyard with hookups. There was no picnic table on our site and when I told the clerk, she said "just get one off another site if no one is using...

We have stayed at this campground twice within a year and we really like it. It is a funky little place to camp and may not be ideal for some but if you are looking for a laid back stay this is the place. Bath house is a little outdated but stays clean and the outside showers are great. We...

A great campground just as you enter Ocracoke. Convenient to everything. Golf cart rentals right outside the gate. They make it easy for you to check in and check out. Some of the facilities could use a little updating, but overall, if you are a RV'er this is the place to go.

As far as a bare minimum campground goes, this is fine. We actually had a really nice stay except that we made our decision based on the website claim that there was live entertainment on the weekends. One look at the "stage" and it was obvious it had not been used in quite a while. The bathrooms are old and...

No hassles and trees for shade on my tent. This isbthe most convenient campground on Ocracoke. State campground is miles out of town. This campground is next door to the only bar on the island. Best on Ocracoke. Convenience right next door and the owner is very personable. They let us pitch tents late after the last ferry.

Pulling in I wasn't sure if I was at the right place because it looked so run-down. I figured I'd give them a fair chance and see how things went. Note to self, how you do the little things is indicative of how you do the big things. Nothing at Beachcomber is done very well. The bathroom was in disrepair,...

This is our second stay at Beachcomber. We enjoy the convenience, the affordability, the clean restrooms, and the friendly staff. We brought a tent and found that the sites are flat, have water, and that our site was equipped for our extension cord. (Last we stayed the outlet was for an RV, so it's hit or miss if you receive...
