The Oakwood Inn is located in a lovely safe neighborhood within walking distance of restaurants and museums in Raleigh. The room was comfortable and spacious and had a modern bathroom attached. A TV/DVD were in the room as well as a book which listed attractions and restaurants. Free parking was available behind the Inn. The garden was beautiful and we...

I have stayed here twice now, both times while in Raleigh to do research at the NC State Library (my husband joined me this last time). Not only is the Oakwood Inn within just a few blocks of the State complex, but there are a number of excellent restaurants nearby. The neighborhood is safe and attractive, so walking around after...

We recently stayed for 2 nights at the Oakwood Inn Bed and Breakfast in Raleigh NC and found our experience there quite enjoyable. We stayed in the Polk room which was a large quiet room on the ground floor that was quite private. The room was lovely and had a nice gas fireplace to add a touch of warmth and...

Oakwood Inn is a great location. Very close to downtown Raleigh so you can park your car for a while. The Oakwood area has lots of cool old homes and lots of historic properties. Downtown Raleigh is a nice area to see. The one not to miss is a tour of the Executive Mansion which you need to schedule in...

The innkeepers are always welcoming & happy to recommend restaurants & activities in the area. So much...

How very happy I was to discover the Oakwood during a recent business visit -- a welcome respite from the standardization of less than exciting hotels! The hosts cld not have been more welcoming. We were most appreciative of their prompt action to move us to an upgraded back-facing room room when an unexpected water main break on the street...

Came to town for business and really appreciated the wonderful hospitality of Gary and Doris. The house was beautiful and really made you feel like you had walked into another place and time. Especially enjoyed relaxing by the fireplace in my room after a long day of work. A wonderful location with a short walk to the downtown area where...

Stayed during the Historic Oakwood Candlelight Tour and had veryenjoyable time! Gary and Doris are wonderful hosts, the food was excellent and the neighboorhood is beautiful. Our room was romantic, the porch out front is a great place to watch the world go by and you can't find nicer people than those in Raliegh, NC. We will definately go back!

We have stayed at the Oakwood Inn 5-6 times in the past years when we have visited Raleigh, the most recent stay was after Christmas 2012, and have always had a very enjoyable time there. The rooms are always immaculate and each one has it's own particular charm. The breakfasts there are always delicious as well as filling. The owners there...

This was great. The room was for the most part very period and the whole house was beautiful. The breakfast was simply awesome and much care was taken to avoid allergies and accommodate different palates. There was surprisingly not much noise given its urban location save the birds in the morning that were great to wake up to.

“We stayed in the Lane Room. It was small but worked for us as all we did was sleep. I will note that there is a claw foot tub and the way the shower curtain hangs it can be a bit tight to shower. Did not bother me as I only need hot water :)”

“My only caveats to a couple deciding on a room at this inn has to do with the tub and TV. This particular room has a historical clawfoot tub which is too small for a couple to use together and the TV is located in a very awkward spot making it fine for catching the news, but not the greatest for watching a movie in bed.”
