My husband and I enjoyed the beautiful scenery and weather of North Carolina at this secluded historic lodge the end of September. Everything about the lodge with its wraparound porch and grounds were beautiful, updated and well maintained. All the photos and information on the website were correct. The staff and owner were very personable and ready to please. The...

Absolutely wonderful! Excellent accommodations, Fine Dining, beautiful mountain vistas, and removed from the rat-race. This is a place where you can find peace, and get back to nature, or really experience her beauty for the first time. This venue is geared to adults who appreciate tranquility...so leave the children with a loved one back home. This was our first visit...

This is an amazing place and I cannot wait to go back! The isolation and peacefulness of the mountains grab you from the minute that you arrive. You can truly detach yourself from your busy and stressful life. I personally am not an outdoorsy person but I love nature and greatly appreciate the outdoors in its most natural state which...

Stayed there in a couple weeks ago. Met our old friends there for a few days. We each got a suite in Chestnut Lodge. The suites are very comfortable with coffee maker, fridge with ice maker, stereo with classical and jazz CDs. Each suite has a deck with small hot tub. The views from the deck are breathtaking. The bathrooms...

As soon as you walk through the door of this rustic, beautiful lodge you are transported to another realm. These were the most amazing 3 days I've ever spent away from home. The buildings and surrounding decks and pathways are tranquil and comfortable with more than enough places to be alone to enjoy the views if you choose. The fire pits,...

This historic lodge is perfect for people who want a secluded getaway or a restful respite after hiking in this beautiful part of the world. The owner and employees are delightful in their low-key way and the service was impeccable. Our room was perfectly fine, considering it was the least expensive possibility. Not fancy but comfortable and clean. The room...
