Stopped on a whim. We are on a bike trip from Wisconsin and decided to stay here. Great owners, very polite and helpful. Room is very basic, but clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy but reasonably priced for a room with kitchenette. Very happy we decided to stop here.

Thanks for reviewing our facility. Sorry you didn't enjoy yourself more. Best wishes on your next stay in the area. To assist you, the closest Holiday Inn and Comfort Inn since that seems to be your preference will be Maryville, TN or further into NC. Our motel is a 1960's era one level with parking in front of the room....

Awesome place. Staying here on our next trip to the Dragon. Nothing fancy, but reminds you of your youth. No frills, but it is very clean. I would definitely recommend you stay here. Fown the road is a great place to eat breakfast. Its at an old gas station. Cheap and good. Ask at the desk.

We stayed at the Tuskeegee Motel with a group of 13 for Miatas at the Gap. Wonderful retro motel. We had a unit with a small kitchen, #5. The room was clean, had a tv/dvd player (we never turned it on), shower stall in the bathroom. We had a coffee pot, they provide coffee. There was no sugar or creamer....

I have been staying here for years now. I love how convenient it is to everything and how relaxing after a long day of riding. The country store and fuel make if very convenient for spending a few days while riding the mountains. Family owned and they are always helpful and friendly. Old time motorcourts are nearly a thing of the past and that is a shame. In a world of cookie cutter hotels, it is comforting to find lodging with character that harkens back to a time when Americans hit the open road seeking adventure or were just simply wanting a few days away from their daily grind to restore their...

We came in around 7:30 PM Friday Oct 3 and was able to get a room. It was a quiet, quaint room. It was very cozy. Very clean!!!! Did not smell. We very much enjoyed our stay and plan on staying again there! The only issue was that the bed is older and not as comfy as we would have...

I absolutely love this little place on Moonshiner 28. Stayed her while riding the roads in the area and Lance was most hospitable. He even gave some advice on a nice route that we followed and had a great ride. The convenience store and gas on site is a great plus. Will be back often.

Great little touring motel. Family owned and operated with down home Appalachian atmosphere. 2 miles from the Appalachian Trail and about 12 miles from the Trail of the Dragon. Great get away. Loved the laid back feel, sitting on the porch drinking coffee at looking at at the mountains with the country church in the foreground. Brought back great memories....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tuskeegee Motel is a roadside motor lodge reminiscent of the 1960's. The business was built in 1965 and has operated as an American owned business continually since opening. Our primary patrons are motorcyclist (both sport and cruisers) who frequent the area for the numerous roads visited by tens of thousands of motorcyclists each year. Approximately 17 miles North of our location is "The Tail of the Dragon" which draws visitors from around the world. Many other notable roads are in the area including Moonshiner 28, The Blue Ridge Parkway, the Cherohala Skyway, The Diamond Back, Six Gap/Blood Mountain, The Rattler and various others which have not been named but are incredible rides all the same. As the area is mostly National Park and US Forest Service property, it is very remote. Many people prefer staying with us to get away from everything and detach for a few days from the hectic hustle and bustle of life. If you prefer staying in town, numerous restaurants and things to do such as nightlife we are not for you. Our customers are dedicated riders who leave early, ride all day, return in the evening to refresh and do it all again tomorrow. Having been operating for over 50 seasons now we have an extensive following of customers and friends. We will gladly refer you to another facility if we are booked out so you may enjoy the area even if we are unable to assist you. We also will be happy to refer you to facilities which cater to other groups such as hikers, family vacations etc when we are full of motorcycle groups and events. ... more   less
