We stayed one night at Toftaholm Herrgard Hotel (THH) while on a tour. THH is set in a beautiful and tranquil semi-rural area with cattle grazing in nearby fields and a lovely lake (Valdistad?) behind the hotel. Walking trails are present, one of which leads to a medieval ruin - great for picture taking!! Our room was on the first...

Way out the way. It's a ma and pa rural farm type place but a dead end location. Rooms are really undersized with minimal conveniences. If you want a drink the bar better get their first - very little seating. Don't look for anything else go do here. The owner was an interesting guy who recently bought this place and...

Old manor home on a not-so-picturesque lake located in the middle of no-where with tiny, so-so rooms. If your idea of relaxing is sitting on a cheair watching the grass grow, this might work for you, otherwise it is just a place to break up the bus trip from Denmark too Stockholm. Staff did an excellent job, but this inn...

This was a very cozy, comfortable hotel in the beautiful countryside right next to a lake. The staff was very accommodating and helpful in bringing us tea in the garden when we arrived. The food was excellent including Nettle soup, pan fried fresh trout and a delicious chocolate mousse for dessert. There are ancient Rune stones on the property with...

This family run Hotel is in a wonderful location at the end of Lake Vidostern and a walk round the small private peninsula with views down the lake sets you up for the wonderful food on offer at dinner. Likewise our breakfast featured local farm and lake produce and was again special. All the rooms in these refurbished very old...

The grounds are beautiful as the buildings are set at the lake. The rooms were very small and few if any amenities. The room had not been vacuumed very well as there was sand in my bed after walking on the rugs barefoot. It is too warn and needs a major facelift. But it is a very historic and interesting...

I recently stayed one night together with my wife and 3-year old. The place is charming and at a splendid location right by a beautifuil lake. Overall a nice stay with pleasant staff. However, give the price range with above 2000 SEK for a room and maincourses around 300-350 I had much higher expectations also given that the hotel is...

A hidden gem in the peaceful Swedish countryside. We checked Trip Advisor for recommendations in this area and found great remarks about Toftaholm. We agree, it is a lovely, secluded choice for road-weary travelers. Our accommodations were typical of this type of hotel, lovely and comfortable. The surroundings are calm. We enjoyed a walk near the lake after a marvelous...

Lovely old hotel which has been thoroughly modernized. Quiet and comfortable. Scenic lakeside location in the country. Family owned and run. Service was excellent and the food in the restaurant was very good.
