Perfect spot for families. Although sites are tight you really don't need to spend much time at your campsite as the beach and surroundings are so beautiful. Nice facilities and friendly staff. Beautiful, still water and although we only had a quick stop over I hear there's good fishing too.

Still amazing and at this busy time of year the park filled with family holiday campers enjoying the waterfront and kicking back - stayed overnight on our pop top camper ($45) double, no booking just arrived and scored a perfect powered site opposite the beach access with a stunning view - no campers in front to block the view. Clean...

Thanks for the great review. 1770 Campground is a great family holiday destination and this time of year several generations of family campers call the campground home, and most have known each other for many years.

As we didn't book ahead there wasn't much availability when we arrived and we took a back site. Staff were very helpful when booking. Turned out to be perfect though, a big shady site close to the amenities. We loved 1770, would have loved to have stayed longer than our 3 nights. Perfect position right on the beach. Onsite cafe...

Westayed for 5 days just before Christmas and loved the location but felt that the park needs a lot of work. We were disappointed by the camp kitchen which had two bbq's and only one worked the whole time we were there. The large hotplate on the stove had an out of order sign on it instead of it being...

Thanks for the review. When someone from the city visits a remote camping ground, it is easy to jump to conclusions on it's care and maintenance. Our upgrades are carried out every 12 months, and these can only be undertaken in February or November, when the campground is at its quietest. Tradesmen are hard to come by, unlike in the...

Our campground is very popular especially at Xmas time. We try our hardest to please all patrons and future patrons. Some long term campers over 5 to 10 years patronage consider this is their annual holiday destination, and rightly so.... please come and stay with us again.

Stayed at the 1770 camping ground just for 1 night as we were passing through. The sites are pretty tight, however we have a camper so was no trouble for us. This camp ground is right on the water and boasts a spectacular sunset. Ammenities new and modern, not the cleanest but okay. I was particulalry impressed with the designated...

The location is a dream. Directly at the beach. During our trip it was the most expensive camp ground. The amenities were not very clean. The powered sites have only shared power plugs and need therefore a long cable.

Yes we are blessed with a magic position, right on the beach at 1770. Thankyou. We respond to all reviews, time permitting, good or not, and we are always looking for ways to improve 1770 Camp Ground. We value all our local and overseas clientele, and strive to have them leave Australia with only "good word of mouth" opinions of...

We have just returned home after our annual 2 week visit to 1770 and we were not dissapointed. As usual we were greeted warmly by the Managers of the park, Greg and Cathy before setting up on a beachfront site. If you are looking for a family friendly camping ground with plenty of hot showers, a great camp kitchen and...

Caravan park looks great from the road, with grassy and shady sites. Until you check in and are packed in like sardines on the gravel section. We asked to move sites as our neighbours were loud, obnoxious and half on our site. Told no way, no how. Told that the shady grassed area was being rehabilated, but people were put...

Hi, Thank you for the review, we are sorry to hear your experience was not a good one. Yes we do have section of the park closed for grass rejuvination, which is done every November. However, we do not condone our staff being unprofessional and unhelpful. We do hope that you will return to our park in the future. Kind...

Amazing location right in front of the bay, and the sunsets are to die for. But, the staff are pretty offish, and in fact quite rude and certainly not that welcoming. For the money you pay, it certainly is one of the more expensive camp sites in Queensland I'd expect a lot more.

Hi, Thank you for your review, we are glad you enjoyed the park and the scenery it offers. However we are disappointed that the staff on duty were not accomodating. We do hope that this experience has not deterred you from returning to our park in the future. Kind Regards,
