We had a 2 night stay recently in a studio room. The value for money was good. The room was clean, mostly renovated & comfortable. We were disappointed that we didn't have a deck or balcony, & was unaware when we booked that there were 35 steps up to the studio apartment. There was no under-cover parking for this apartment... We booked at the last minute and found that the property was well priced. We booked through Ray White and went with room "13a". It was newly refurbished and had most things you need for a long weekend. Pro's: Location was great, Clean, modern and comfortable and has close access to the roof. Con's: No air-con, room is rather bright... More

Pros: Location-within walking distance to some lovely beaches ie Flinders and Home Beach, the Bowls Club (doesn't have Foxtel), Cafe next door and the North Straddie Pub (has Foxtel). Cons: Very outdated, basic and smelly rooms. We stayed in 7A and a friend stayed in 8A, both were the same and are in dire need of a refurbishment. Management very... More

I wonder how loud your 'quiet conversation' outside your unit was. The unit block is very solidly built (even if the internal wall between your units is not soundproof). If the noise level was enough for the manager to receive a complaint at 1030pm, he would have no alternative but to check it out, as this is quite late for... More

We had a lovely stay at The Islander Resort. It is quite dated but it really doesn't matter. The unit was far cleaner than a lot of 5 star places I've stayed in. It was plenty big enough for our family of 5. The grounds are immaculate, the tennis court a great addition and the pool very refreshing. Home beach... More

Overall the apartment was clean and functional - clearly repainted and a new bathroom installed recently. New couches and curtains would make the atmosphere more comfortable. Unfortunately you can hear every word spoken in the adjoining apartment. The facilities -pool, gas bbq and tennis equipment are all well serviced and free. There was also a library of DVDs to choose... More

We stayed for 3 nights and found the room to be clean and comfortable. Our room had a modern kitchen and bathroom and all appliances worked well. We loved the old rustic feel to the place. Lovely pool and gardens and nice bbq area. Kids had fun playing in the tennis court and pool. Overall great accomodation for a great... More

We decided to stay at the Islander Resort again and we were glad we did :) The room we had was really nice and clean and had everything. Yes, the room was on the 3rd or 4th floor (can't remember) and the stairs & luggage are a nightmare combo :( We had amazing hot days so the kids loved the... More

Spent three nights over a long-weekend. As others have mentioned, this place is in dire need of an update. The room we stayed in was rundown. The furniture was dated (along with the overall decor), the bed was very firm and old, the refrigerator was rusting on the outside, really dirty inside. The kitchen had a stovetop and they had... I stayed here as I was attending a wedding and all other accommodation in the area was full. Although the room was large and contained everything I needed, the decor left me feeling like I had stepped back in time, it could really use a makeover. The staff were very helpful and friendly which was a redeeming feature of my... More

We are just back from a 3 night stay here. Our top floor apartment was extremely spacious with quality furnishings and spotlessly clean. The kitchen had every appliance needed, there was even ice ready made in the ice tray and cold water in the fridge, most welcoming on a hot day. The bathroom was huge and the air conditioning in...
