My mother and I enjoyed a visit at the Duck Smith House while shopping the local potteries. Barbara and Suzanne were lovely hostesses and the house was absolutely spotless!! We stayed in the Waverly room and enjoyed a restful nights sleep. I can't say enough wonderful things about the breakfast the next morning…. strawberries with yogurt, granola and mint, french... We recently spent 2 nights at the Duck Smith House and would highly recommend it! Sisters Barbara and Suzanne were the perfect hosts and have made this inn quite comfortable for their guests. Lots of nice little extras all around. They were great with suggestions for restaurants, pottery venues, etc. The breakfasts were fabulous! The first morning began with fresh... More

We stayed at the Duck Smith House for a weekend in March 2015. The two sisters from New York who own it are lovely people and enjoy hosting. We were met at our car upon arrival, even though with a long drive we didn’t have a set arrival time. The room, on the first floor and just inside the front... More

Best coffee during our roadtrip vacation. Beautiful historic home. Bird watching in the backyard. Great breakfast. Warm hostesses. Don't be put off by the location, our room was very quiet. A tip when traveling to Seagrove - most businesses and pottery shops are closed on Sunday.

As we were touring the Pottery Studios in Seagrove, we told people that we were going to stay at the Duck Smith House that evening and they told us that "the sisters will take care of you." They Did! It was one of the nicest stays I have ever experienced from the warm welcome to the hug goodbye. They have... More

Barbara and Suzanne are wonderful hostesses. Incredible breakfasts and accommodations. This is the place to stay in Seagrove. We stayed here two nights and really enjoyed the visit. Relaxing afternoon porch time with complimentary cheese and crackers!

The Duck Smith House B&B is the best we have ever stayed at. The Murphy Sisters make staying comfortable, relaxing and us wanting to stay longer. All the extra touches make you feel very pampered. I do have to say the pancakes are the best I've ever had. It's a great place to visit: Zoo, birding, pottery, antiquing and great... More

It's even better the second time b/c the first time we stayed with Barbara, Suzanne, Daisy and Duke was w/o exception. Read the reviews and you'll see what we mean b/c it's a respite we find relaxing and therapeutic when we venture into the NC heartland. Pottery or NC Zoo it's the place to go, and the sisters are everything... More

This B&B was in a lovely old house run by 2 sisters from New York(I think), who had decided to become B&B hosts in their "golden" years. They did a lot of research before making the changes that they have and as a result the attention to detail and running is superb. Seagrove itelf does not appear to have a... More

The Duck Smith House B&B is run by sisters, Barbara and Suzanne who definitely know about warm hospitality and comfort. The house is wonderfully restored and has everything you want and need; rooms are immaculate, down to the ironed sheets. Breakfast was wonderful and very sufficient for even a big eater but it's also customized to your appetite, fresh and... More
