We enjoyed our 2 night stay here. While a tad hard to locate once located it was a breeze to get to and from places on the island and around. The ambiance was nice in the main dining area and we REALLY enjoyed our breakfasts each day we were there. 3 other couples allowed us to talk about many and various topics around breakfast and the Inn Keeper joined us on morning #2. great memorabilia around coke cola products in the main room. TV was limited but she had a large collection of VHS and DVD's to browse through. Even with her small dogs there was no real noises or barking to concern us with.

This is a nice place to stay off the beaten path. Jeanne was such a nice host. She had everything that you’d need, even if you forgot something. We were greeted by the offering of 2 different cakes, and beverages and snacks were also available. The room was clean and comfortable. It is an older home, so there are no surprises that it has the old charm and feel, and creeks and you are in close proximity to the neighboring rooms. We completely enjoyed breakfast. The food and company were great. I would stay here again.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights while visiting the NC coast. We loved it! The breakfast was great and versatile (we made a request for French toast and she specifically made it for us on one of the limited two mornings we had there!). The room was pretty and comfortable, and the area feels safe also. Jeanne was super sweet as well, a bonus!

My husband and I stayed recently in June while we attended a wedding and had the most wonderful time! Jeanne was great, super sweet and gave all of us info on places to go and see and lots of history about the house itself and the area! Loved the breakfast! Very cozy and comfy room/suite, we stayed in Willie's room and LOVED it! We will definitely be back to visit!!

This century old house does not disappoint! The owner has curated a lovely collection of antique furniture and decor. Do be aware that as this is an older house, the stairs are quite steep. I loved the ocean "influence" throughout the house. The bedding is comfy and the mattresses very restful. The common area is inviting. No problems at all with the WiFi. There is a pantry stocked with inexpensive drinks and snacks for purchase. While my schedule did not allow me to enjoy the breakfast, the preparations looked yummy. I highly recommend!

This was a stay along the way for our 15th anniversary. Jeanne made us feel at home and relaxed. Nice and cozy lil BNB off the beaten path. Close enough to go see the Wicked Tuna boats to the south (with some good local watering and feeding holes) and some fine dining up in Manteo. Also close enough to drive over to see the OBX and the lighthouses. Want to stay away from the tourist traps? Stay with Jeanne!

The room is quite small for a suite and the jacuzzi is barely big enough for one person. Electronics and fixture need to be update but on the positive side, the innkeeper Mrs Jeanette is pleasant and sociable. Everything is clean and well kept. Breakfast is nice... I like be her cheese grits.

This was my first experience at a B&B so I wasn't sure what to expect. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised at how wonderful everything was and also the excellent price for all you get here. It's beautiful, clean, comfortable, cozy, homey, romantic, etc. We loved that the owner, Mrs. Jeanne and her staff were so accommodating during our four-night stay. They advised us on places to visit and eat, as well as, the directions to take so we wouldn't get so caught up in traffic. The breakfast was delicious...something different each morning. Our room, Lexi, was spacious and the bed was so comfortable. All the other guests who came and went while we were there were super nice and friendly. We hated to leave when it was time to check out. When we come back to the OBX, we will certainly stay here again. Totally in love with Island House and OBX!!!
