Nothing much in the area other than the beach, which is really too rough for swimming, at least in November. The best thing about the campgrounds were that they were kept very clean, but others in the area seemed to do so as well. They offer a deal of a free night if you stay an entire week. Also they...

My husband and I stayed at Ocean Waves for three nights in our travel trailer, with our two dogs. This was our first time in an RV park- we had been tenters up until now, and literally just got our trailer the week before this trip, so we were definitely first timers in the RV world :) Everything was great...

This campground is right next to the ocean and for water lovers is really great. Camp sites are a little small but it's not a big deal when you spend so much time out and about. Has a nice pool and the owners are very nice. They offer events for their "community" pretty often like breakfasts, bingo, etc. the camp...

Spent 2 days here in 2015 and went back for a week this year. Wonderful place to stay. Trees and grass with concrete patio at every site. Restrooms and showers are very clean and convenient (3 in park). Easy access to beautiful beach. Employees are very friendly. It is not in a commercial area like Nags Head or Hatteras but...

We've been camping at Ocean Waves Campground since our kids were little, and they're all grown adults now. It's a small, intimate setting, built and run by a family now in its third generation. Located in the booming Rodanthe-Waves-Salvo metro area (said with tongue-in-cheek), we enjoy the much quieter alternative to the areas further north on the Outer Banks (Nags...

So clean, friendly staff, very helpful, pet friendly, loved the pet enclosed area! Close to beach, cement pads a huge plus for keeping sand out of camper. Right on beach, not crowded at all. Will return!!!

The good - campground has direct access to the beach. It is very clean. The bad - sites are really, really close together. View is of your neighbor's sewer hose. The flies!!! Campers pull in at midnight and set up two feet from your bed. Rules, rules, rules. Dumpster in middle of camping area. The ugly - owners didn't think it was...

Nice, friendly little campground right on the beach. There are a couple of other campgrounds very close by and we rode our bikes through both of them. Ocean Waves is the least expensive of the three and I thought the nicest. They are all on the exact same beach! The family next to us has spent a month there every...

Waves is the smallest of a string of campgrounds on this mostly residential stretch of beach. All RV spaces have level concrete pads separated by about 12-15 feet of grass. Several pads near the entrance have tree shade. Pads do vary in length, and several big rigs had little space left over for their extra vehicle. Many had to park...

Let me start by saying my family loves animals especially dogs! However Ocean Waves Campground really needs clear strict guidelines on the type of dogs allowed in this campground. Our camping neighbors had two large dogs that are classified as viscous! Many other campers had pit bulls, German Shepard and dobermans. Large dogs classified as viscous are often intimidating and...
