My wife and I took an overnight trip from Raleigh to get away and de-stress. We have been to Wilmington for countless trips, and this one was hands-down the best. Our host, Chuck, was welcoming, kind, glad to answer all of our questions, and prepared an excellent breakfast. Our room was well decorated, comfortable, clean, and everything that was advertised.... We had a great week-end trip to Wilmington. Everything about The Verandas is wonderful. The location is within walking distance of many good restaurants and the riverfront area. Breakfast was fantastic! Chuck is a gracious host and made sure everything was to our liking. We really enjoyed sitting on the front porch for a pre-dinner glass of wine and an... More

we loved everything about the Verandas. The rooms are superbly decorated and very comfortable, the location is near everything on the waterfront, and the breakfast awesome. It's a very comfortable place to relax and enjoy the city.

We arrived late with a note on the door on how to get in. But all was easy, with a glass of win and Sherry at disposal. The rooms are decent size and the bathrooms are well set up. Reception is cosy, with books etc ... Breakfast was delicious and ample, with a special care for our Gluten Allergic daughter.... More

This place is truly amazing...great Hospitality from the Host to the food and pristine Interiors...Chuck covers all the details and I so look forward to returning again and again. Selfishly, I hesitate to make this review too good as I want to be able to book my room when in town but this is one of my all time favorite... More

I don't quite know where to start. From the moment of meeting Chuck, to the immaculate house, the wonderful room and the delicious breakfasts, the aperitifs on the veranda and the local advice this really is a wonderful place to stay. We stayed in room 8 which I think is the biggest in the house and gets a sunset view... More

We were looking to getaway for a nice relaxing weekend in Wilmington Nc . My boyfriend Paul took it upon himself to find us a hotel near downtown and the River Walk. He told me about the hotel and although a nice place it lacked what we were looking for. We wanted something a little more so I decided to... More

I'd never been to Wilmington before and had no idea where to stay. An acquaintance in the hospitality business recommend the Verandas and I couldn't have been more. pleased with my stay. I stayed in room 7 on the 3rd floor; it was spacious and the board and batten walls were decorated with grain painting -- a sort of Victorian... More

I'll do my best on most of the above since I was greeted by a set of these monkey statues upon entering the darkened, smallish room #7 on the third floor of this large bed and breakfast. (Oops there I go suggesting evil.) One of the best parts about this B&B is the location just a few blocks from downtown... More
