Visited for a family event. This place is showing its age and could probably use some major renovations. If I judged it with a first impression I probably wouldn't stay here. Catered meal was less than impressive even with a small group. Salmon was over-cooked and veggies were bland.

The room and the bath room weren't clean. The bath curtain was dirty. The lady at reception doesn't know to smile. The breakfast wasn't of quality. The wifi didn't work. This hotel needs a full refurbishment and trained staff to become up to par. Briefly, poor experience; I don't recommend at all.

Overall, the place is dated, everything was old and used. Stains on the carpet everywhere. There were lots of different smells. Rooms are spacious but old. You could hear your neighbors. The location was very convenient since it's next to Wake Forest university. Parking was free, which help with the price. Continental breakfast also included in the price.

Where do I begin? The towels smelled like old meat, the noise from the hallway and rooms was horrible and wifi was nonexistent. Understaffed and haphazard. We travel quite a bit and have stayed in many types of hotels and inns. This hotel needs more than a little fixing up.

I've stayed here a couple times and I think it's a great place for the price (got a great rate on Priceline). Some of the furnishings are a little dated, but it was clean with some funky artwork. The hotel lobby was nice. The room was huge. The free breakfast needed some eggs or something but was otherwise fine and... More

I travel to Winston Salem for business and stayed at this hotel in the past. On this visit I again stayed at the Winston Salem Hotel and Spa. The location is perfect for business at Wake Forest as well as downtown. Being on business it was very nice to have the spa on property to relax after the day. The... More

The staff was very friendly but I travel a lot and this was by far the dirtiest hotel in which I have stayed. The carpet was filthy! The tv did not get good reception and the heating unit did not work so we were so cold that we were up most of the night. Definitely needs much TLC and updating... More

The front desk was very nice, but I was disappointed that my room had to be changed. When I arrived to the first room, the bed had not been made up and the sofa cushions were thrown all over the room. The second room was better.

The front desk last looked like she was in high school. Dressed in tight crop top and tight jeans with tattoos all over.
