Our stay at the Zevely was the perfect one night escape. The room had a comfortable poster bed, a desk, and a view of the quiet side street. The Dutch door was a nice feature to use in the morning to let in the fresh air. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch in the evening. The inn is convenient to all...

Many of our guests write to tell us how much they enjoyed the time spent on the back porches, which are perfect places for a cup of morning coffee or contemplation in the evening. This aura of peace and tranquility makes a stay at the Zevely Inn a perfect escape from the stresses of every day life. We all love...

Found this place on line, and loved the pics. We called, and one room was available at the last minute. We got the least expensive room in the B&B, the old Gunpowder "magazine" room. It was very cozy and comfortable, very clean and nicely decorated with art and quilts & period pieces, or with reproductions. Queen bed was a little...

How wonderful that you were able to get a last minute reservation for the Gunpowder Magazine room which is one of our most popular accommodations here at the Zevely Inn. I am happy that you enjoyed your morning breakfasts as well as our close proximity to the Salem Tavern and downtown Winston Salem.

Our room was quiet and nice. We spent the evening on the porch in front of our room by the garden. Very peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast was great. We went for a walk in the village but we wish we had more time to take a proper tour.

It is unfortunate that you didn't have the time to tour Old Salem Museum and Gardens but this may give you the perfect excuse to return at a future time. So many of our guests enjoy the quiet times on the porches. We've solved many of the issues of the world while enjoying a cup of tea or coffee on...

Thank you Linda and Harriet for a lovely stay in Old Salem. Everything was perfect - room, breakfast, and of course your professional and personalized attention. Can't say enough good about the Augustus Zevely. It will be my base for years to come when visiting the Winston-Salem area.

We recently spent one evening in the Zeverly Inn and enjoyed our stay there. There is some great history associated with the building and it does not hurt that it is in the center of Old Salem. Without a doubt, the location can not be beat and when you are ready to hit the rest of Winston Salem, the drive...

We are pleased to frequent this wonderful place as guests of the wise, wonderful, and aware Innkeeper who provides clean rooms, a tasty breakfast, and an historical atmosphere. It has become a refuge of rest for the difficult times, as well as a joyous place of celebration marked with many memories. This Christmas, we were blessed to experience a rare...

Thanks for your wonderful review. Your visits to the Zevely Inn have meant so much to me. Our times spent on the veranda, solving the problems of the world, figure into some of my fondest memories. If everyone had a heart and soul like the two of you, there would indeed be peace on earth.

We elected to start our tour of the southeastern US here in Old Salem as it is only 85 miles (if my memory serves me) from Charlotte Airport. An easy well signposted drive, we found it no problem. The Inn is a historic house in a street of historic houses, a church and museums as well as some houses which...

Our stay in this 18th century inn was perfect. I would like to say that less is more but without diminishing all that this place has to offer. Times were simpler then and the atmosphere here gives you that feeling. The staff were wonderful and accommodating, especially when dining. The talks were wonderful. What a delightful introduction to this area of North Carolina. The inn is lovely, very charming and clean. The innkeepers went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. In town for the Winston Salem Open Tennis Tournament, we opted to stay in Old Salem and chose the Zevely for its serene setting in the heart of the restored historical district. Indeed, many of the surrounding buildings are preserved landmarks with costumed docents happy to demonstrate colonial crafts and describe what life then, particularly in NC and specifically Salem,...
