we arrived early and were checked in quickly. We stayed in one of the smaller rooms on the first floor and still had so much space compared to a chain hotel. The unique features in each room are great and they have done a wonderful job of taking a historic building and giving it as many modern features as possible.

The building is beautiful and tastefully restored; the room spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly, helpful and personable. The house cat is gorgeous. It was perfect to be welcomed with cheese and wine after a long drive.

On our way through NC, we stopped for one night. We were pleasantly surprised to find our room upgraded to a nice suite. Bedroom up and living room down, with exposed ceiling of the old mill. The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom huge and clean. We both said it was a shame we were not staying longer. Would...

The room was great, high ceilings, big bathroom, soft sheets, great pillows; all original wood and brick. My only feedback would be a more diverse breakfast (I am not a grits or biscuits or gravy girl)

It was a dark and stormy night - really - as we searched for a motel in Winston Salem during one of the furniture events. After passing a number of 'no vacancy' signs we stopped at a LaQuinta motel where the night manager suggested Brookstown Inn where there were a couple of rooms available. Ten minutes later we were in...

Missinginmichigan, Thank you for your lovely review. We are happy to have welcomed you in on one of the (many) recent stormy nights. Nothing is more relaxing than the sound of rain on the roof! We hope that your next trip is longer so that you can join us for wine and cheese. Until then, best wishes and safe travels.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. It's a really lovely unique hotel in that it's not the business/corporate style which is a good thing. Hotels with character are better. The lovely sommelier Max showed us all around the hotel and even told us the history. He also gave us a great dinner recommendation which was Willow, only 5...

Comfortable bed. That's what was most important. I got there at 2am after being turned away at the other hotel due to a busted water pipe. Brookstone welcomed me and when I climbed into the bed it was delicious. Big ceiling fan on the high ceilings was perfect. Inexpensive compared to other hotels, this place offers bang for the buck....

This is our favorite hotel in this area. Lots of character in this restored cotton mill - staff are great - and the price includes wine at five and breakfast - best value in Winston. Walking distance to downtown restaurants and close to Salem College.

Our favorite in Winston Salem. We did think the free breakfast was off a little in this visit. Neat place. Very nice people. Unique rooms. It is very convenient to the downtown. We stay there several times a year for family visits. Well taken care of.
