We booked last minute and it worked out very well. We extended our stay in grand forks when other hotels were not available. The hotel was nice and clean, the staff was friendly. A special shout out to the lady (we don't know the name) at the breakfast buffet. She made the place so welcoming, kept it super organized, clean and tidy; and the breakfast was delicious.

Hotel's Favourite
We had never stayed here before. Pleasantly surprised by the amenities for the price. Staff was friendly and check-in was easy. Rooms were clean and modern looking. Bed was average, shower was fine. Location was certainly convenient right off the interstate (but not noisy from traffic). Breakfast was what I consider a bit above average for hotel breakfast (fruit, cereal, muffins, bagels, eggs, yogurt, sausage, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, juice, coffee, tea). We didn't use the pool or exercise areas so no comment on those. I would stay here again when we are back in Grand Forks.

Josh at the front desk and Mary and her team in the breakfast room were so amazingly kind, attentive and accommodating! Bravo Holiday Inn for hiring these people. Keep it up! The King suite was booked for me, my sister and two adult daughters. We quickly realized that the pullout bed would not do. Josh was able to alter my reservation to a Queen suite for our comfort ( suite with 2 queen beds). Room was clean and comfortable. As for the breakfast room, there was an excellent choice of foods. Eggs and sausage, toast, yogurt, cinnamon buns just to name a few. It was such a wonderful way to start our day with a warm greeting from Mary and her team. Thank you so much

Stayed at this location in June 2022 with our sporting team and it was the worse experience we have all had staying at a hotel. Despite the Grand Forks economy and tourism industry appreciating the business they receive from Manitoba citizens, this was the worse experience and we would encourage all groups to avoid this hotel. On a number of occasions, parents were called to the front desk similar to being called to the principle's office regarding the teenage kids and at night, after 10PM, parents went outside in the parking lot socializing and we were threatened to be kicked out the following day. This was well before midnight and we were not loud or obnoxious at all. Just chatting and socializing. At breakfast, one teenage boy was scolded for making a hot chocolate!! Not welcoming at all. If you are a family or a couple, sure this hotel is fine but if you are travelling as a group or plan to socialize with others, AVOID AVOID AVOID.

My parents booked 2 rooms on Thursday for Saturday night via phone at the rate of $149/night each. Saturday night happened to be a night in which Grand Forks had a concert going on and hotel rooms were limited and demand was high. Friday the hotel called them and said they were demanding deposits on rooms and that they had an issue running their credit card and they were going to cancel the reservations. Another card was given and the rooms confirmed again. Upon receiving the invoice Sunday morning prior to check out the rate had changed to $259/night. We inquired at the front desk regarding the confirmation from Thursday and asked why the rate had changed and they said $259/night was their rate for Saturday beings there was a concert in town. Do not trust this hotel when there are high demands for hotel rooms in Grand Forks. Very unethical to deal with!

Hi jeremywY7890BP, Thank you for looping us into your concern about the room on your reservation. While I am glad you appreciate our hotel's cleanliness, what you described certainly is not the kind of experience we want any of our guests to have. We strive to offer the type of hospitality our guests value most where the essentials are done exceptionally well, but that did not happen on your visit. I am sorry to miss out on this area. I've communicated your sentiments with our management team for review and I've also sent you a private message to discuss this further. I hope to get another chance to host your next visit as we promise to make the value of your experience worth it for all the right reasons. Yours in hospitality, Jeraldine R. Case Manager IHG Service

This HIE offers easy on-off access to the interstate, but it is far enough away to eliminate the noise occasioned by passing trucks. There is an abundance of parking, the usual HIE breakfast fare, and an indoor pool and hot tub that were getting a real workout on Friday afternoon /evening and Saturday morning; indeed, there were still a few adults lingering in the pool area when we returned to the hotel Friday night a little before 11 PM. Our room, like the public areas, was clean, and the bed very comfortable. If we could offer one improvement, it would be to have refrigerators in the rooms with a freezer element; as it was, the staff at the front desk helped us out by laying our dry ice up in the staff refrigerator overnight. We really appreciate this level of service. The hotel does have one curious feature: there are heavy storm doors located so close to the elevator that it is a real challenge to maneuver a luggage cart in this tight space. Keep this in mind if you are booking a room on an upper floor.

I always check Trip Advisor for reviews on places we are thinking about staying at. WE were very pleased staying here!!! We chose to get the Executive Suite (418) since we were spending 2 nights over Labor Day weekend. I loved being on the 4th floor since I am a stair climber, I only took the elevator when moving our things in and then to bring the cart up as we were packing up to leave. I am not a 'shopper' but did take advantage of walking to the mall to check out a few stores. We were pleased with the hot breakfast, served to us and the availability of coffee - in the dining room and in our room. I would love to pass through here again and get the same room! On a side note - one room I called about (did not notice until I was on the phone with the gentleman) showed they catered to LGBT :( NOPE!

I thought that Holiday Inn Express had a reputation as a good hotel. After my March 6th over nite stay, Holiday Inn Express just has a reputation, and it’s not good. Our room (105) was beside a small conference room that turned out to be a party room until a little after 4:00 am. My first phone call to complain about people making noise in the hallway was around 2:20 am. As far as I am concerned nothing was done to stop the partying. What I cannot believe is that the front desk was less that 50 feet from the room. Do not tell me that no one heard noise until my last complaint at 4 am. Needless to say, this hotel does not seem to care about its guests. And why would management allow a conference room to become a party room after the bars close. I did not get to sleep until 5:30 am. Completely unsatisfied with my stay.

We are so sorry to hear about the issues you had during your stay. Our policy for the meeting room is for it to be closed after 10 PM due to quiet hours and so the front desk will be updated on that policy so that they know not to let anyone stay in that meeting room after 10 PM. We truly are sorry for your unsatisfactory stay and hope you will try us again soon to see that you stay was the exception to how great our hotel can be.

Our group of 14 booked here this last weekend. I can not say enough of how well maintained this hotel is kept. Staff continuously clean, even the front desk staff cleans instead of just sitting behind the front desk or in a back room. All the staff was friendly except the housekeepers. I’d say hello every time we passed and they’d never respond. Kinda disappointing but maybe they were busy with all they had to do. The room itself was very clean. Top to bottom no complaints. We used the breakfast dining room to play board games and sit and chat in the evenings. It was nice to have a big enough space to gather. The breakfast was good. Juice, milk and coffee available. Hot items included omelettes, bacon/sausage, biscuits and gravy and pancakes. The pool area was great. There’s two hot tubs and quite a large pool. Tables and chairs were set up in the space so you could go in or sit and visit. If you are looking for a hotel to stay I’d definitely recommend this one.
