Detailed Reviews
They allow pets (a plus in my case) and accept cash payments! Even though renovations were being made to the pool area, I could see that updates were attempted, and work noise didn’t start until I was already up.
The staff fooled me at both check in and check out - in the most wholesome of ways! They were sitting in front of the tv in the lobby, instead of behind the desk. So I thought they were guests, but they were just very relaxed. That’s so good to see!
Jim, the manager/owner, was very kind at check out, and told me that his is the only independent location in the city, while the rest are chains. I can see that efforts are being made to keep prices affordable AND improve the property. I told him that I’ve certainly paid more for less quality, and that this is the best experience I’ve had at thus price range.
The only qualm I had was not being able to find a switch to turn on the bathroom fan, and there wasn’t TP - just a drawer with tissue boxes. Weird, but whatever.
The strangest part was finding river rocks, like those outside the building, in odd places in the room: behind the toilet, under the nightstand, by the bed….Jim told me that a Black Labrador had stayed there previously and those were his special rocks that he’d collect from outside. A very sweet solution to the mystery!

it was nice we were in the corner room with a hot tub it was dark and quiet. never was disturbed. the staff were preprepaired for our family to enter. we barely had to ask for anything as they were already provided. the place didnt have that cheap motel smell but also was not too luxury. i enjoyed my stay

We usually use another chain hotel but booked this hotel through HotWire Secret Hot deals. We were quite impressed - quiet, large room with fridge and microwave, good breakfast with scrambled eggs and waffles, free internet, parking and breakfast. There was a pool available. This was really an incredible value with the total with tax coming to $74.00.

Majority of our experiences at Comfort Inns have been very good with a few falling to fair but this was unacceptable for safety violations. This room should never have been assigned. Upon entry the carpet was torn & susceptible to tripping. No cover on the bathroom fan. No cover on bathroom outlets near sink exposing wires. The back cover of TV remote was missing. Multiple cords were piggybacked & plugged into outlet sockets. A 25' extension cord was draped across floor causing a hazard. A table had been set up in the middle of the room & was draped with a blanket & some dishes. Seemed out of place & took up valuable room space. Broken hangers on the floor in the closet. No hair dryer in room. No coin laundry at this location. Receptionist was polite but as they were fully booked could not offer us another room. At check-out voiced concerns to new receptionist who stated room primarily used by employees for meetings & should have been pulled from system but did not offer bill adjustment. Advised would be bringing safety concerns to Choice Hotels attention. Received standard questionnaire from Comfort Inn so listed much of the above. Response from manager included apology & stated deficiencies corrected. I do not believe likely an electrician would have been called out late on the night of our stay.

Stayed Friday, August 6, 2021, until Saturday morning, August 7, 2021. We arrived at 8:30 pm and extremist propaganda network One America Now was constantly playing on the TV in the lobby of the Jamestown, North Dakota, Comfort Inn, both when we checked in and it was still on when we used the pool between 9:20 PM and 10 PM. OAN was also playing Saturday morning in the lobby. The breakfast area subjected us to the propaganda of Fox. When I went to discuss with the clerk, she was nowhere to be found. Paying for a room should not include extremist indoctrination.
In addition, our room had garbage in the garbage can in the bathroom and there was no soap. Perhaps the staff should focus on providing clean and well equipped rooms rather than trying to shove extremist points of view down the throats of customers.
We will never stay at a Choice Hotel again, as it is clear Comfort Inn and Choice Hotels are helping to misinform customers by peddling misinformation.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights as a weekend getaway. The town was bustling as it is the last westbound town with services for quite a while. The hotel was very clean and well appointed, even the hallways had a pleasant scent. Our room had a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. The beds were very firm, which i'm not fond of but my friend loved. The bathroom was clean with a tub shower. There was plenty of hot water even at peak times. I had my dog with me which wasn't a problem for the hotel. One word of advice, if you need a ground floor room with certain requirements, call to confirm close to the date of arrival. We required two beds and there weren't any left on the ground floor when we checked in. i don't do stairs very well, so this was sub-optimal for me as there is no elevator. Breakfast was good with a few hot items each morning consisting of eggs, a protein and waffles along with the usual continental items. Fox News is playing on the TV at all times in the lobby, so if you aren't a fan it can be annoying.
Overall this hotel is a great value for the money and would recommend it to anyone staying in Jamestown.

My family and I were on our way back home to Wisconsin from Montana on a Saturday. My power steering crapped out in Jamestown as we stopped to get gas. Comfort Inn and another hotel were across street from gas station, so we limped truck to hotels. One hotel said they were full and couldn't help us. I walked into Comfort Inn and explained my situation to Jim. He explained that all his rooms were full but he would work something out because he wanted to help. A couple minutes later, Jim stated that he has a room that just had some work done and was still messy, but he would let us have it for an extremely discounted rate. He then asked us there was anything else he could do to help out. We ended up staying at the hotel for 3 days and couldn't have been more pleased with the customer service and their attention to detail. If you want the BEST customer service and a good night's sleep, STAY HERE!

We stayed here with family from March 8th-10th, 2023 and were not impressed. We checked in and our door was open when we arrived. Additionally, they were kids that were walking around barefoot and hanging out in the Looby area eating food. We were not able to hang out in the lobby area with family. It appeared that these kids lived there, or they were not in school, or they did not have daycare. There were a lot of employees hanging around the front desk. The rooms were not clean, and we had to let the employee know to fill the coffee at the breakfast bar. There were a lot of different people hanging around and not sure if they work there and/or lived there. The pool was warm and nice. I would not recommend this place to stay.

Although the lady at the front desk was friendly, the mess behind the desk should have been my first clue. They need to invest in filing cabinets instead of having stacks of Minilla envelopes with dates on . The heat did not work. The entire place needs to be redone.

Thank you Tinkerbell, your input is greatly appreciated. A little context may be needed here. The "Stacks of envelopes" were not there for decoration, we were actively working with them on a project. The heat did work, and yes, the entire place needs to be redone and we are actively remodeling every day. We hope to see you again and I would be happy to offer a voucher for your next stay. JM GM

This place is sketchy at best. The whole place is dirty and it looks like they are slowly remodeling some areas. The stairs are half torn apart. There was no breakfast at 8:00am. The pool area is gross and falling apart. Wallpaper in the guest room was falling off. Shower leaks. Everything is dusty and dirty. There was a young girl with no shoes visiting with front desk staff every time we walk by.
