I had a North Dakota travel book....we were very tried and it was late. I looked through the book and this motel was fairly close. I called...the old man said now this a Mom and Pop motel. That was my first clue. Then I asked do you honor military or senior discount. He said " I can give you a few bucks off" 2nd clue. We went in to pay...the area was dark, crowded with stuff and smelled. I told my husband "I hope the room is better than this". We went to our room...I can state now I have never stayed in a room this bad. It had strange carpet for a motel, yard sale furniture, a blue sheet on the bed, and one lilac towel and one blue towel in the bathroom. The chair was so worn I didn't want to sit on it. I had some lysol wipes in my bag. I took about 4 of those and wiped over the blue sheet. We had our own pillows with us. Needless to say I could not sleep in the bed. I sat up while my husband slept. There was no wifi. The only good thing I can say is the bathroom was clean. There was a new refrig and microwave. Don't stay here !! A motel like this should not be open.

Hello... We are the new owners, and have changed many things that you have listed here... But ... for the most part, we have had several customers say the the mix matched bedding and towels, made them feel more at home... because, who has all matching stuff at home? Not everyone.... But, as I said, we now have matching towels, bedding, etc... and are working hard to update the motel. And we have re-done the office :)

Excellent place to stay. The owners were very kind and helpful when we had a flat tire on our motorcycle. They did everything they could to get us help. The rooms were clean and quiet. The restuarant across the street had excellent food and the employees in the gas station were also very helpful in getting us back on the road. Thanks to everyone our vacation was a success!

One word: Bedbugs. The room was very small. It did have all the amenities that the old man said (cable, flat screen TV, refrigerator, microwave, WiFi) said it had It was also nice I could bring my dog. The bedspread was torn, and the sheet were thread bear. I probably would not have minded how old everything was if they did charge me $60. I still would have minded the bedbugs.

Hello... I am sorry that your experience was not good.... However, As the new owner of the motel... we have had a few "cry wolf" about bedbugs, simply because they want to move on to a better hotel/motel.... Honesty is the BEST policy.

On a recent trip to Montana, we read the reviews for the Red Rock Motel in Miles City MT. The ratings were average but the reviews said it was an older motel with no amenities but well maintained and clean with comfortable beds, We found it to be very clean, with a pillow top bed, and good towels (though the pillows were hard). It was a good choice for people who just want to sleep and move on with their trip.

On our return,we were looking forward to stopping at the Starlight, since it had excellent rating and glowing reviews, We found an older motel with a junky office, and a bathroom with a very dirty sink, a somewhat unclean shower, and a very clean toilet. One of the two mismatched towels had two holes. One of the mismatched washcloths had two holes plus a missing corner. The top of the dorm refrigerator was also dirty. This was a great disappointment after the two positive reviews.

I got off this exit by mistake when I wanted to go to the 24hr Perkins. However, it was 11pm and I needed a place to stay. After eating at the Perkins, I found out that the brand motels/hotels in Jamestown were booked except for one that was too pricey, then I remembered seeing this motel. It is a small, family run, and the rooms are very dated . However, it is clean and safe and the owners are exceptionally nice. It was also very reasonably priced. This was my first terrific night's sleep since I left New York, driving. I'd definitely stay here again! The motel is also directly across the street from a restaurant that served an excellent (!) breakfast.

Inside my room was very nice. It had been recently redecorated and had a Norway theme (Bergen in my case). There was a large fridge, microwave and a coffee maker – I didn’t find any coffee supplies but as I had some with me I didn’t make any enquiries.

The bed was comfortable. It was in a bit of an alcove so if travelling with someone could involve one person having to climb over another. I liked the sheets which felt a bit silky.

The bathroom had some shelves to put things down which was useful. Plenty of hot water for the shower. The nicest towels I have ever seen in a hotel including some which cost many times as much as this bargain.

I had a very nice chat with the people who own the motel when I checked in. They were very friendly – despite the slightly scary notices on the counter.

I probably wouldn’t have stopped here if I had just been driving by. Don’t be put off by the outside as the room was excellent for the price.

If I am allowed on teensy quibble – the ticking clock got on my nerves.

Rolled into Jamestown very late and took first exit. Stopped at Norway thinking how bad could it be? One look at the room and one whiff of the smell and I was outta there. I wouldn’t have stayed if it were 20 a night. No thanks.

Bed was comfy. Room was a little small, but very clean. Would definitely stay here again. They only have 14 units, but the Mom & Pop who own and operate this motel are extremely friendly. They are more than willing to accommodate your needs.

We got into town really late and I wish we had traveled a little further, but after over 600 miles, we were desperate for a rest, especially the kids. This motel was grossly overpriced at $89 + tax (we had better rooms in 3 & 4 Star hotels the rest of the trip for the same amount or less money). It should be more like $39. In any case, the room looked clean, however it stank terribly of urine. The signs say that the motel allows pets, but this was not the smell of pet urine. The carpet and or bedspreads desperately needed replacing. A bug zapper wouldn't hurt this place either, as it was swarming with bugs outside the office and the doorways. We were absolutely disgusted, but we slept for a few hours and travelled on making sure to take long, hot showers at the next stop. Somehow taking a shower in the room seemed like a futile attempt to wash the smell off. Very disappointed. They did have a microwave, refrigerator and television that we didn't use, which might have been nice had we been dumb enough to stay another night. The free Wi-Fi was very helpful for finding another hotel for the next night.
