Fabulous time at this hotel. George from the animation team was superb... Waterpolo was amazing fun... Great with the Children and very accomadating to our family and knew us all by name. He worked tirelessly to keep us entertained and engaged throughout our stay. We started our visit out of season and it was lovely and peaceful. Through out the visit it got busier which was great. The food was lovely especially the pancakes! We loved the variety. Everyone was helpful and the hotel is spotlessly clean! Would love for there to be more lifts as we had a buggy and there's quite a few stairs. Very eager to clear plates and the cocktails on all inclusive ( green band) need updating and to be more flavourful as Can often be overpowered by spirit measument. Overall a fantastic visit and we would be back.

The hotel is not really 4 stars, I would rather give it only 3.5 stars. the location is quite far from the beach, we used to walk there for about 20 minutes. We stayed in a family room with a large double bed and 2 sofa beds. The furniture is a bit old and the walls a bit dirty. The 6 nights we stayed there, our towels were changed only once, the bed linen was not. Cleanliness is not a strong point, it should be insisted more, especially in the bathrooms, both in the room and those at the reception, restaurant and pool. The water in the pool was not very clean, it had a lot of sand and dry leaves in it. Also, the yard and the stairs leading to the yard were quite dirty. The food was good, tasty, but it consisted only of cooked dishes, we did not have grilled meat or fish on any day. Which for us was a minus. Also, there is no bottled water, only by the glass from the dispenser and you have to ask for the bartender during the day. The animators were nice and they tried to do their job as well as possible. Bartenders were so-so, seemed a bit tired and the treatment was tipped or not. Instead, the waiters were very operative, immediately picking up the empty plates and cleaning the tables. Parking quite expensive 20BGN per day and there were not even parking spaces, but the space in front of the hotel. The time interval for lunch and dinner seemed quite short to us, I think it could be extended by at least 1 hour each. Overall, it was a pleasant vacation that we enjoyed.

We have just returned from another 2 weeks at Kristal having visited 3 years ago (see earlier review). This time we took some friends with us making a total of 10 of us and this included my wife's 50th birthday so we were hoping for a nice time. Thankfully we were not disappointed. It is my intention to be very honest here and ensure you can make a decision based on YOUR wants of a holiday. Overall we had a lovely time, the hotel was exactly as we found it before. This time we booked direct for the best price and they offered a discount for returning people. Overall We were certainly in the minority as English, with a large concentration of Germans who again were mostly polite. A few loud ones which was occasionally annoying but staff seemed to stamp on them quite quickly. Trust me, it is not a bad thing to not have many brits there ! Reception I have no idea what some people are saying here. Every time we needed reception they were attentive, caring and helpful. On arrival we received silver wristbands indicating you are returning guests and are entitled to discounts over the hotel both on specialist drinks and the heath spa. Lovely touch. We never revealed we had 4 birthdays whilst there including the 50th however a birthday card was in the room for each one and a bottle of sparkling wine for the wife and our friends son. They clearly saw this from the passports Accommodation We opted for 2 x triple and 2 x double rooms. Glad we did as had a separate bed for our 14 year old girls instead of the small ones last time. Rooms were clear, attended to by the room service each day and normally came back to our sheets in different shapes each day. Showers great and large. Not complaints about the rooms whatsoever and all had pool/sea views Restaurant & Food People need to remember this is an all inclusive and I have no problem with them using leftover food in soups etc. the following day. Quite creative really! If you want first class dining then don't bother coming here and moaning and go and pay double somewhere else. There was plenty for us all to eat and especially the snack bar went down well with the chicken kebabs each day. There were some meats that were a little questionable but hey, try something new! By the end of 2 weeks though started to feel a little samey but this is always the case with all-inclusive. Staff worked so hard especially the young girls and some enjoyed practising their English with us. Well done all Entertainment Where do I start here. Once again a bunch of young people trying their best to give all the residents a giggle and enjoyment. Our children enjoyed all the activities and mixing with all the other nationalities. They come around before each event but don't take it personally if you don't participate. We again got to know them well; Nikki, Simon, Alex and Gabi. One word - diamonds! Shows varied from bingo, music quizzes to full music productions. Some were a bit sus but you're on holiday so embrace the tackiness! The Lip-Sync show was the best by far so this is a must. The comedy show didn't go down well with our friends though. Nikki even got up at 5am to see us off on our departure day; what a top lad and we are missing them already. Please, if you enjoy what they do give them a little tip as their pay is not great and they are all students during the year. All-Inclusive If you have grounds to moan about this as well then go away ! Some seem to have a meltdown in that it stops at 11pm. Of course the drinks are not the same strength as at home but with the hot weather this is no bad thing. We spent most of our time at the pool bar being entertained by SLAV's dancing and rapping. Top bloke and he will even take song requests. The ice creams are served 12pm to 4pm and are great with the kids and adults alike. Facilities Pool great and always clean; very entertaining watching the underwater hoover in the evening. Rules around the pool relaxed and the lifeguard will certainly provide the entertainment; not sure if he's up to saving you from drowning though ! Always plenty of sunbeds and the whole approach to this is so relaxed with people reserving from 9am onwards but always get some; and with 10 of us that was great The wellbeing centre is cheap for massages etc. so encourage to use. There is a games room but never went in that. Can use inflatables and balls providing you are nor an idiot with them; and of course there will always be one that is! Surrounding area To manage everyone's expectations there are a couple of party hotels around this one but once back inside the grounds doesn't really affect you. The front is very busy in the evening so if you don't like the crowds probably best to stay in after 9pm. However there is never any trouble that we say and just people having a good time. Its a bit run down as you leave the rear of the hotel and could do with some investment. An absolute must is the photo places that dress you up in Bulgarian attire and then photograph the family. We did the gangsters and the prices were so cheap compared to the UK. A great memory. There are water sports along the beach which are probably the most expensive thing in Bulgaria but still cheap by UK standards. Once again thank you Hotel Kristal for our 2 weeks again. My daughter is still upset at having to leave and now the debate starts over next year again! We will see you again soon

My fiances grandparents invited 7 of us on a 1 week vacation to Bulgaria for celebration on their gold wedding. I was staying in the standard twin room with my fiance. Fitting for 2 people. The view from the room was okay, most of our view was blocked by a tree but the view was still pleasant and good view of nature, it wasn't too noisy out on the balcony. On the website it does say that it's 450meters from the beach, this is sadly not true it's more 800-1000meters depending on the route you take, which is still pretty close and the walk there is also nice with a lot of little shops and restaurants. Room 4/5 The room was nice and spacious, the layout common to all hotels I've been to. However the door to the bathroom was interfering with the toilet and came very close to the seat since the toilet was more or less behind the door. There was a lot of cabinet space to put your clothes if you were to unpack your suitcase while you stayed. Our room had 1 mirror in the hallway, one in the room and 2 in the bathroom, one of which being a small move able mirror for easy access to put on makeup etc. Was very convenient. Sadly our balcony did face straight out to a tree so we couldn't see the ocean, even though we did face it. We could only see glimpses through the leaves and branches. Elevators 1/5 The elevators were the absolute worst part of the hotel. The elevator seemed to have a life of its own going up and down and both elevators going to the same floor and then either stopping at all floors or not stopping at any. We also had both elevators come to our floor at the same time when we wanted to go down. They stopped and stayed for about 15 seconds, then went back down without opening to let us go down. Bar(s) 4/5 The bars were all great, even though the quality of the drinks were a little lower, the staff did put plenty of alcohol in them. Much different to most places! Pool & surrounding areas 4/5 There were 3 pools, 1 for small kids and 2 other ones with different depths. 135cm and 155cm. The pools had a nice size and depth to them, they were clean and maintained with a nice water temperature. However it lacked pool activities like a water slide or water games like a goal etc. And playing with a ball in the pool was listed as prohibited. The areas around the pool were amazing. There were a lot of sunbeds and parasols +trees for extra shade. There were also plenty of tables and space for it all. Without any real need to fight over the sunbed spots. Sadly the pool already closes at 18.00 which is rather early. Restaurant/Food 3/5 The food was ok, most of the days were the same food just slight differences, but a lot of the stuff was overcooked or undercooked. Still the food wasn't the worst and you'd surely find something you'd want to eat with the huge amount of different foods they offer for each meal! The staff in the restaurant were very friendly and helpful. Though sometimes a little too fast in removing your plate when you finished eating... Reception and cleaning staff 3/5 We arrived late with our bus and lunch time was almost over, so the reception hurried us along to get lunch before checking in, however she was bad at explaining this so the people in our group that had spoken to her thought they weren't allowed to check in till after lunch. This was a nice gesture to make sure we ate before it closed! The other staff in the reception were generally very bad at English and seemed annoyed when asked something. Though when our shower in the room broke, they fixed it within an hour! ️ The cleaning was ok, though the first night we spilled a little on our bed sheet and even though we got our room cleaned every 2nd day (own choice not to get every day) the sheets were never changed. Though they did give us new towels every day and did also refresh out small toiletries (soap etc.). Entertainment Staff (JR tours) 5/5 There were several activities through out the day. The first being at 10.00 and the last at 21.00. It always started with some morning workout /Stretching to get the day started and then with various mini games /competitions during the day. Like darts etc. In the evening there was dance parties were you had to choose a song you'd want to dance to. There was also Karaoke and other fun events! Sadly these events all seemed to end too soon . Wish the evening one would either start a little earlier or end later than 22.00! The staff itself were the friendliest staff on the hotel! Making sure everyone were notified of the events and giving everyone a chance to join in, even if late! Very welcoming! Our Animation staff were Nicky, Ivan & Gabi. They truly made the events fun with their commentary and their kindness. It was so much more fun with these wonderful people. They did make our stay at the hotel so much better, we always looked forward to seeing what the events were going to be so we could join. And in the evening we always came home to the hotel to join the 21.00 event! Thank you guys for that! :) -Nick & Kitty (Maria)

First of all: WE ARE NOT PICKY PERSONS 1. It is not a 4 star hotel. Maximum 3 2. Using the shortcut behind the hotel, and on the stairs behind international hotel there are 750-800m to the beach. If you read carefully they say there are 450m in straight line. And when you come back you have to go up, because the hotel is uphill In a regular day with 2 trips to the beach and the rest of the day in the hotel we walked 6,8-7 km 3. You have to pay almost everything, including water. The so called all inclusive doesnt include bottled water. Only tap water. If you want in the room you had to pay. See the picture attached 4. The beverage included is very very poor(and we are not much of a drinker), and absolutely no variety. The cocktails taste like poor quality juice 5. the food is just to say “we are not hungry anymore”. There is few courses and no variety (who says it is probably has never been in a real all inclusive hotel) 6. Really funny;we arrived few minutes before 15:00. The lady on the snack bar says we cannot take pizza as it “almost 15:00-it was 14:55. I insisted as we had babies with us. She sad ok and gave us 2 slices because as IT WAS WRITTEN “ONLY 2 SLICES per person”😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😨. We went out to eat with our “all inclusive”bracelet 7. In day 2 the 5 of us got food poisoning, we vomited, diarrhoea after eating diner. It lasted 7 days and needed antibiotics 8. The hotel had no parking. There were 10 cars crowded on the door and if YOU want to leave 4-5 cars must be moved(if the owners were available, it not….good luck). We spotted a parking place but the bell boy said we can not park there. But it was for the person who tipped him with 10 BGN. 😡 9. The room was clean only once when we requested at the reception (the green sign was hanged all the time). Once the lady looked at us around 16:00, cleaned the next room and left The towels supposed to be white but they were dark gray 🤢 we would never come back to this hotel especially because of the distance to the beach, and the food and beverages. The room was ok

The hotel doesn't worth 4 stars. The room was dirty, they didn't change the towels or the bedding and the toilet didn't fonction well. Also the hotel didn't have a parking, they send you to park at 200m from the hotel in an undevelopped place(on a hill) with earth on the ground, stones and broken glass. The positive part was the restaurant which has a dedicated manager. The staff from the reception was rude and unprofessional.
