I booked this trip for my neighbour, who is 80+years old and very independent! He has been to Bulgaria before and really liked it, although stayed in a different part of the Country previously. I was in touch with him throughout his stay and cannot fault the help given my friend and/or myself, by the Hotel Manager (Mr Kamen Slavov). My neighbour said the Apartment was perfect and his only negative comment was that, as he was 'self catering' the only 'local' shop did not sell much other than Bread and/or crisps.......no vegetables, fruit, butter etc., The Holiday itself (2weeks) was perfect for him, but the Flights and 'Stopovers' at Istanbul Airport, through Turkish Airlines, was horrendous, despite booking 'Assistance' he didn't get the help at the Airport he needed and as most stopovers exceeded 12hours (some even 29hours) there were people lying in sleeping bags on Floors, Seats, or wherever they could find a space to lay their heads?! He also wasn't advised at any time prior to his flight that he would require a Visa, on arrival at Istanbul, with no real explanation when he got there, or allowances made for his age, or hearing. But I have to emphasise the Holiday at HPM Serina Apartments, was faultless!!!

Hotel is situated right next to the beach. its clean& spacious!!! the pool was cold but lovely and the bar was in the pool so you could have a drink sitting in the water at the bar which was cool! it was across the road thou as well. we didnt hang around for the food in the hotel - so i cannot advise on that! Our room was facing the beach but we were on the first floor and didnt see much of the sea. From the bar at the top of the hotel you can see out to the sea - it was amazin! and the made lovely beans/cheese on french bread i had for breakfast every day! The market stalls below sometimes played loud music late, or made lots of noise early in the morning. There were loads of storms usually at night time, when we arrived it was pouring after the storm was calming down that we flew in! The first thing we bought was a brolly from the market. Standing at the front of the hotel looking forward - to the left it is more peaceful to the right it gets busier! its ideally situated to take you pick where you want to go. There is a guy that sells hotdogs near the hotel and thinks he’s harry potter! he was quite funny! The sea can be quite rough sometimes, but mainly calm, we hired jet skis which was scary but fun. We went to the water park 5 mins away - that was fantastic until a storm came out of nowhere and completely washed everyone away. We went to Varna, taxi was cheap, but do compare some try to charge more. cant remember what the rate was. Varna market is a scary place! very cheap find great bargains! but people do not leave you alone. i was grabbed by a shoe seller and my partner had to pull me away - it gets rough!!! we ran out in the end! One night we paid for an all inclusive Bulgarian night out arrange by fristchoice i think. it was brilliant - traditional dancing, food, wine. i got up and danced with this lovely bulgarian man, he taught me how to dance. all this was outside wooden seating, buffet food. brilliant!
