Detailed Reviews
I stayed at this hotel for a week in the first ten days of September, with the holiday season in Golden Sands drawing to a close. Nevertheless, there were a lot of guests there, especially during my first three days at the hotel due to Bulgarian families who came there for the weekend. The hotel is at some distance from the beach; luckily, there is a shortcut which includes a gate at the bottom of the cascade of pools, then stone stairs leading down to a street and further to the public beach in the very centre of Golden Sands. My room was spacious and cleaned every day. However, the bathroom needed renovation. The food was very good: rich choice at each of the day's meals, everything very tasty (the latter obviously depending on one's palate). The water in the pools was very clean; all the sunbeds and mattresses were in good condition. Now, for the staff. Generally, everybody there is helpful and friendly. The "black sheep" are, however, two young men at the lobby bar. Unpleasant to the hotel guests, and working as if their job was some kind of punishment for them. And I am not unjustly biased here as I talked about these men to a number of other guests and our opinions were unanimous. On the contrary, the bartender at the pool bar named Gelyen - very friendly, smiling, always willing to teach me a few new words of Bugarian. The waitresses at the restaurant helpful when needed, replying with a smile to my (limited set of) greetings in Bulgarian (special thanks to Simona here), and constantly doing their best to sustain the tables' cleanliness during the meals. The animation team consisted of two Bulgarian girls only, sisters named Mirella and Precyana. They were doing a really good job, always smiling at the guests while passing them, willing to answer any question anf fulfill any request (if that was possible) - and this all despite being tired after the high season (July-August) with the hotel filled to the maximum capacity at that time. In all, the hotel gets 4.5 points from me on the scale 0 through 5.

Came back from here last week after an 11 night stay. This could be a lovely hotel however it's not the cleanest. The room cleaners hardly touched the rooms except empty the bins and fold a sheet on the bed so I had to complain to reception on 2 occasions as the floors werent swept and bathroom never cleaned and both times I was told they'd had complaints from other guests too about this. Beds were only changed once so i stripped the bed myself on the 8th day to ensure they changed the bedding. Blanket and duvets were badly stained so i had to get them replaced. After my complaints the cleaners upped their game and started cleaning properly. Room was very spacious for 2 of us and we overlooked the quiet pool at the front. There was always plenty to eat so you wont starve but it was it was a bit odd at times, even saw cooked broccoli for breakfast, there were plenty of salads and lots of meat stews if you like that kind of thing but i ate fish everyday and really enjoyed the bulgarian cheese pie for breakfast but theres not a great selection for vegetarians. The food was always cold though so after speaking to the restaurant manager about this, the next day a microwave was put out beside the toaster. There's a kids section of food but there were only ever two things there luckily the toaster was usable at breakfast, lunch and dinner so my daughter lived on toast and pasta and could have pancakes at breakfast. Have to say that the Animation team did a great job and worked really hard as did the reception staff who were so helpful and friendly. One day I asked them at 11pm if I could have a kettle in my room but they didn't have any spare, then 10 mins later the lovely Melissa knocked on my door with one. The hotel is in a great location, a short walk to the beach and shops and bars but there are a lot of steps within the hotel grounds down to the pools. Our balcony door didn't lock when we arrived and took 2 people to open and close it but the wonderful Skrillen fixed the lock however the other repair wasn't completed during our stay as he said he couldn't do that so every day was a fight to open and shut the balcony door as it was so stiff. All in all this could be a lovely hotel if they paid more attention to detail and cleanliness and improved the food but its definitely not a 4 star but has other good things going for it and lovely swimming pools and definitely no sunbed wars! Beware though, Bulgaria is really expensive!!

We visited as a family of five with a 5, 7 and 9 year old.
Good points:
Comfortable beds
Quiet rooms
Good hot powerful shower
Fridge in room
Room temperature good and air conditioning free
Friendly staff
Good animation team
Big pools with varying depths and a nice temperature.
Lots of sun beds without competition like some resorts.
Bad points:
Children’s food selection non-existent. Website states a full children’s buffet, not in reality this is plain pasta and potato balls, no meat apart from chicken nuggets one out of seven days.
Adult food very repetitive and always pork or chicken leg in some manner of sauce.
Not much to do outside of hotel other than restaurants, bars and a mini golf.
Pools are murky, think there’s an issue with filtration.
Pool table couldn’t be used as missing white ball the whole week.
Photos are misleading as makes the complex look rural, there are no trees to the right as the photo shows but a big hotel overlooking the pools.
Cleaners did little other than change towels and empty bins.
Overall an average stay, wouldn’t discourage others if on a budget unless fussy children like ours with food. Still good value overall.

Excellent room, nice view from the balcony. Super friendly staff, especially if you treat them nicely, you will receive appreciation in return. The food was good for everyone, but it is a pity that some guests served too much food and did not eat it all afterwards. Swimming pools were kept very clean and the water felt cold when you went in. I met many new people from 12 different nationalities. I was also on holiday for 13 days. In any case, I enjoyed it.

Well where to start. Don’t be fooled by the pictures. The pools are tiny and there are very few sun beds. If you manage to get one at all you need to be up early to grab one!!
The rooms are very basic, beds are rock hard and the pillows were filthy and lumpy. There’s no information in the room at all.
The food looked unappealing and generally wasn’t the best.
All that said the staff were friendly.
Be careful if you ask the hotel to book you a taxi as the firm they call charge far more than you should be paying. Luckily I was warned about this by a local and checked the price before getting in the taxi. He tried to charge me twice the amount I had already paid for the same trip a few days earlier.

We stayed at hotel sunrise im august for a week. This was a last minute hoilday that i booked. We arrived in the middle of the night and the lady on reception was nice the front of the hotel looked nice. However at the side of the hotel they was teenagers very loud and doing balloons. I had small children and rushed them in.
The bathroom was beautiful and the room was very large however i was not inpressed with having mattresses on the floor and not provided with an acutal bed.
The kettle also was not working and we had to go to reception twice to get this changed.
The food was absolutely AWFUL breakfast was just a no go unless you wanted hotdogs and broccoli.
Our room wasnt cleaned once. I had to go to reception on day 6 and ask for the room to be cleaned as my daughter was sick and the room still wasnt cleaned so we cleaned the room.
We didnt spend much time in the hotel we spent most at the beach which was a nice 10 minute walk.
The hotel had rude staff and guest that was very rude to english people noone would even smile at you. We was very lucky to meet a lovely english family this saved our time at the hotel as we managed to have some lovely evenings with them.
Overall i wouldnt book with hotel sunrise again. I would consider bulgeria for another hoilday as we did find a lot to do and felt safe with the children. We liked how the night life was relaxed enough to take the children out to the local bars for a drink and they was welcomed.

Never choose this hotel unless you want to ruin your holiday. The pictures are untrue. When paying for an upgraded room, we got a room without a shower (or rather a shower just hanging over the toilet, no tray under your feet, after a shower you enter the bathroom where the water is) and with a broken bed! Checking into this room on 4.08.2024, immediately contacted the administration. Because in the first place, the shower arrangement is not healthy, especially when with a small child who slips on the wet floor every time. The bed-part of the mattress is simply missing, sleeping impossible. Administration said come tomorrow on day one and they'll change rooms. The next day, the same thing: "Come tomorrow, change rooms." And the fact that you don't have anything to sleep on doesn't bother anyone.
The Inn is HORRIBLE. Service is even worse.

Filthy, messy inhospitability!
For 14 days of rest, 1 change of linen, dirty dishes and tables in the restaurant.
The hotel consists of steps, slippery, wet dirty.
Still used plastic glasses for hot drinks (which then lie around the grounds) No one is in a hurry to clean up here.
The rotten plums in the restaurant showed the receptionist a reaction of complete indifference.
Restaurant lines, monotonous food.
Arrived at the hotel at 21-30 and waited 40 minutes for someone to show up at the reception!
Of the benefits of a holiday in the Golden Sands - only the sea. But consider that without paying for services on the beach you will struggle to be able to properly accommodate on the beach.

This was a last minute holiday as the price was too good to be true , after reading a couple of reviews we weren’t expecting much . How wrong were we , we had an amazing week from start to finish . Arrived late but check in was great by friendly receptionist . The room was lovely clean and tidy . Air con was great . Food was to a good standard could always find something to eat . Although we didn’t take part in an activities the animation were friendly. The pools were beautiful and if you want to sit and relax away from the busy main pool there is a lovely quiet pool at the front of the hotel . We will definitely be returning we had the best week .

Awful, awful stay. First of all, in terms of cleanliness, this hotel is a joke. We have been there for a week and not once has the cleaning staff made our bed or change our towels. We had to go to the reception and ask them to do that every single day. I understand not changing towels daily because of ecological reasons (trying to save water etc.), but not once in seven days? Old furniture, dirty floors, dirty walls. Shower hasn't been cleaned, toilet hasn't been cleaned. The whole thing was a mess.
Now when it comes to the food, the only edible thing was probably the chicken, the fries and the watermelon. That is all we could touch while we stayed there. Ended up going out to eat every day, which is not ideal after paying for an All Inclusive hotel. Quality and taste of the food was awful, don't even get me started on variety which was non existent. One of my friends also caught a stomach virus in the first two days.
We probably only came into the hotel to sleep, other than that we chose to go to different beaches and pools and eat at restaurants. That wouldn't have been an issue if we chose a hotel with Accommodation only, but we picked this one especially because of its All Inclusive service.
A huge waste of money and time! Go anywhere else, but here.

Aircon was free for us, you do get the deposit back for the towel once it's returned
11 pm is the latest bar although some in the resort centre are open quite late
Depends what all inclusive means to you...Prima sol has good meals 3 times a day, drink and snacks available throughout, beach access (5-7) min walk , spa treatments (additional pay) and activities and entertainment all day.
