We travelled to Alert Bay to explore the culture and beauty of the Island with friends who booked our accommodations for us. I'll be honest in saying that when we came to the address and looked at the exterior of the building, my initial thought was 'oh, oh'. But we headed on in. Jen was there to greet us, and...

I recently spent two nights at the Alert Bay Lodge - it was warm and inviting with it's comfortable great room that had cozy furniture in small conversation groupings - book lined walls and homey atmosphere. Our host, Jack, was attentive and accommodating - and to top it off he is a fabulous cook!!

This was a family trip and it blew us all away. The lodge is located along the water so the views any time of day were amazing. Both our rooms were clean and comfortable. The great room had it's own ambiance and relaxed atmosphere. Our hosts Jen and Jack were outstanding. They were both friendly and knowledgeable about the area....

I spent two nights at Alert Bay Lodge with my dog and two human friends. We loved the relaxed and homey ambiance and the comfortable feeling of the place. There's a large lounge area with comfortable furniture arranged in groupings for conversation. There are also chairs arranged for a more private, quiet time. And lots of books. Our room had...

If you've ever watched Northern Exposure, Alert Bay will remind you of Cicely, Alaska. Complete with the chef at Alert Bay Lodge. What a terrific meal. There are only two tables though, so you will need to book in advance.

We had a fabulous 3 nights here. Alert Bay has the vistas, the eagles, the sunsets and the culture and more! People are super friendly. And the Lodge....it was great! Very clean, comfortable and hospitable. Jack and Jen are wonderful hosts and, be assured, this is the very best food on the island! Scrumptious!

Went to Alert Bay for work and stayed one night at the lodge. What a great welcome! It reminded me of an international hostel for it's chilled out atmosphere. But, it's a very professional operation. As others have said, the food is great. Had the pork shoulder which was amazing. I wish they would have told us that ordering in...

What a great place this is. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the hospitality of Jen and Giacomo ("Jack"). The rooms are well equipped and spotless. Breakfast is included and a real treat. The best part of the stay were the dinners prepared by Jack and Jen. Salmon, slow roasted pork shoulder, carbonara, we enjoyed it all. A three course...

My family and I had the pleasure of dining at the newly opened Alert Bay Lodge. The ambiance of the dining room was an unexpected surprise as the view from the street is quite deceptive. Inside diners will find an inviting atmosphere complete with quality furnishing and a world envied view of Johnson Strait. In short the Italian food was...
