We are in Unit 54 which is lovingly maintained and well stocked with kitchen items etc. I would recommend Unit 54 and rate it as excellent. Location is also great. Nice big spa. We came here with 6 other families and found that there are inconsistencies from unit to unit within ‘Crystal Forest’. It really depends on how the individual owner has furnished and maintained that individual property. Even though our unit 54 was excellent I have rated ‘Crystal Forest’ as average for this reason. i.e. inconsistent quality. If choosing this site then I suggest you look for reviews for the specific unit you are wanting to book.

These comments are only for our rental unit 42. The unit for the most part was totally acceptable. The piezo lighter for the gas fireplace didn't function well, took multiple attempts to get the fireplace going. There was another issue with the fireplace also, likely needed a good servicing. The unit was clean and well appointed, which was great as we cooked all our meals in. The downside to the unit was the beds. 6 of the 7 adults had extremely uncomfortable sleeps, there was no love lost with the beds. I'd not accept the unit unless the beds were updated. We paid premium prices given we stayed over 5 night over the Christmas holidays. Not getting good nights sleep for many was disappointing.

We rented this suite number 54 through Bear Country Properties this past weekend. The condo was beautiful, very clean and well equipped. This was great with the four of us as it had two bedrooms and two baths. It overlooked the courtyard and was very peaceful. It was nice to sit in the hot tub on the balcony and relax. I really cannot say one bad thing about this. Loved it!!

My family of 5 - 2 couples and my mom along with 2 dogs just stayed for 5 nights here over Christmas in #70. It’s a 4 bedroom with 2 rooms with queen beds and a bunk bed upstairs along with 2 full bathrooms. There is another room downstairs with a bunk that has a double bed on the bottom and another bathroom. We loved having the 3 bathrooms - 1 for each couple! The kitchen was pretty stocked. A bit small but all good. Table for 6 and a couch and 2 sitting chairs in the family area. It was almost perfect - could have used 1 more comfy chair but there really is t room for it so we would grab a chair from the table-all good. It’s cozy and cute and even had some Christmas decorations around which I appreciated. Lots of closets and drawers to put away your clothes and a ski locker right out the door. And another great thing was the big hot tub outside the back door. A perfect way to unwind!! We made good use of it even in the cold snap we had for our stay (highs of -17!!) A walk across the street takes you to some great trails for snow showing or Nordic trails and less then 10 min walk to the village. Even in the cold we made the trek almost every day. Wifi worked pretty good lots of channels on the tv and a parking spot underground was all great. We could have used another spot but it being such a busy time we had to leave 1 of the cars in the p5 parking lot (free at least) Sun Peaks is a great place to go with lots to do and this accommodation was just perfect for our needs.

We enjoyed our stay at Crystal Forest (Apartment 56). This 6 year old condo is well set out. It is 2 storey with the living/eating area and a small bathroom on the ground floor. The second floor has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and the laundry facilities. The heating system was excellent and we felt very cosy during our stay. The ground floor has two access points - via the front door and also into the underground car park behind it. On the second floor, another door provides access to the back of the condos, the ski locker for the apartment and to the slopes. Crystal Forest is about a 10 minute walk from the village, at the same elevation. It was billed as ski in- ski out, so we thought it might have been further up the hill. It is definitely not ski-in-ski out. You can access the Crystal Forest via a Sundance access track, though there is about a 100 mtre walk slightly uphill and across a road to access the condo on the way home. Heading out it is definitely a walk, around 10 - 15 minutes down to the village and about 10 minutes up to Morrissey. So, we are scratching our head about that. There was no information about the best way to access the ski runs, and the Sun Peaks Vacation Rentals people, had no idea either when we asked. They were however very responsive to our maintenance requests. The only provisions were tea and coffee and salt and pepper. There was no sugar. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. The hot tub was marvellous. Although we thought we would be quite exposed in it, it really was very private and wonderful after a day's skiing. I thin this place might be better for folk with a vehicle. We came via the Kamloops -Sun Peaks shuttle. Check in was after 4pm, but we told the Manager that we would be arriving around 2pm and he said he would do what he could to ensure we could get in earlier. After the long trip, we were delighted to be able to do so. We received instructions to remove all rubbish to the facility near the Burfield lift which is too far without a car. The Manager told us to let him know and he would get the Hot Tub maintenance folk to dispose of our rubbish for us. We decided to dispose of it in the local bins as we went to keep it manageable. As we were leaving, we noticed that there is a trailer for the trash for residents in the car park plus a place for recycleables. This also would have been useful to know during our stay (and we would have known had we had a car and driven in). So, whilst we enjoyed the apartment, given it's location, we would prefer to stay somewhere where access to the ski runs is easier.
