Having lived in northern BC and visited Haida Gwaii many years ago we had very high expectations and everyone of those expectations were exceeded in every way. The tents are so well equipped and the beds are so comfortable. Having an attached bathroom with piping hot water was great. The communal area is fantastic and the breakfast selection was perfect. We took full advantage of all the facilities - having a great BBQ dinner one night where you have everything you need to cook.
As we were visiting friends we didn't explore the area but there is so much to see and do in the area and the stay can help with all the arrangements. We did a few long walks along the beach.
We took the ferry to and from Prince Rupert and had a super calm trip both ways - definitely worth getting a cabin on the overnight trip back.

So much to do and see. We should have booked more than one night. The staff are excellent. We were able to purchase frozen sausages to grill on the bbq. What a treat to have a fire on the beach. The accommodation was superb! Having the Dyson ac/heater made the room very comfortable. The cooking facilities made things easy, and the ensuite with shower made this a top level glamping experience.

This was our adventure while on Haida Gwaii. we stayed 4 nights in Tent 7. Great location over an empty beach. Used the cedar hot tub. I was amazed at how the continental breakfast had so much choice and tasty homemade muffins. We cooked 1 meal in the dome and had everything we needed with stove fridge microwave. Having your own hot shower and toilet was great. Huge barbeque area we didn't use.
Only unexpected criticism was how cold we were at night. Luxury tents have no insulation so despite double duvet it was hard to be comfortable at 3C at night!
with thermal Longjohns and socks and a toque worn all night we survived. It took courage to dash into shower and then dash back to bed.
Heater in tent was essentially for show as I couldn't feel heat. Benefit of cool nights no mosquitoes ventured out either so no need for netting around our queen 4 poster bed.
Great conversations with staff and other guests. This holiday was a great experience.

I am writing not to review your accommodations, as they were absolutely stunning and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable.
I am writing mainly to review your actions in response to a review left by the person I stayed with at your establishment last week. You were outright disrespectful, immature and rude.
She mentioned the power shortage, because the power bar that will get tripped when there is over use, was tripped multiple times during the night most nights, we had to get up and reset it and when we were NOT using a blow dryer or anything else other than the heater, as we were sleeping during that time and yet you say we should have paid better attention during the tour.. rude.

The reason we mentioned the lack of room service was because we had our tile saying “clean me please” and when it was not, after the 2nd day of our stay, we asked for clean coffee mugs, we did get them, but nothing else was touched in the room, after 4 days we asked for our room to be cleaned. Garbages emptied, clean cups, and it was done promptly. We were arriving back late one night and we asked someone to turn on our heater in our room so it would be warm when we got there, that was the extent of “our demands that you had to bend over backward for”
My suggestion is if you aren’t cleaning the rooms daily as your website professes for $400 a night, then you should say room cleaning available on specific request as you obviously ignore the tile that is hung outside of the room for that purpose.

She had also mentioned that it would be nice if there was wifi in the rooms.. she was not saying there wasn’t any available at all.
To say that you accommodated anyone outside of the 2 people on the reservation at no charge is an outright lie. It was only the 2 of us.
As well to say she currently owes money and to publicly display the amount in your response was very unprofessional and catty on your part.
We checked out on Monday Aug 5, the deposit was paid via Apple Pay, you contacted her on Tuesday Aug 6, stating that you required the actual credit card to pay the balance. That was not communicated at any point during the stay or check out. She received the message as we were travelling through bad service, and the balance has since been paid Aug 7th.
A review is a place for customers to share their thoughts and experiences with other customers. Instead of arguing and trying your hardest to publicly make her look bad, the information should be looked at as a place where you could improve.
I suggest you take from this a lesson in professionalism and your lack of.

The place is absolutely stunning. Staff was very nice and the concept is amazing. There is however a few things that need attention.
We stayed for a week, in that week we had to ask for clean towels and for someone to tidy our room (garbages and clean coffee cups) despite having the clean room sign up the entire week. Cleaning wasn’t done unless asked.
There is zero service and only wifi in the community dome tent.
There is also a major power problem. Rooms are heated only with a small
Heater, which nothing can be on or breakers are tripped. That being said it even went out multiple times through the night leaving the room freezing. The bathrooms also have no heat so getting out of the hot shower was pretty chilly. I feel for the cost per night there should be daily room cleaning, proper internet and better power sources. All basic necessities.

Hi Tania, We of course do a daily housekeeping service, we just ask that you flip your sign or ask. Fresh towels , cups etc. We are in the middle of nowhere with zero cell service but have excellent fibre optic wifi in the dome and on the bbq deck. We chose not to have it in every tent after guests said they enjoying disconnecting. We love our Dyson heat cool fans they normally do an excellent job but when you’re cold you just have to ask one of our amazing team mates for a blanket. Sorry we didn’t realize you were cold. There is no power problem, there’s no 3 phase power in the area as we are very remote, we state very clearly on the tour that in your tent you do not run a kettle with the heater or a blow dryer…one machine at a time. I suggest you do more research before coming glamping. Our staff bent over backwards for you as we do all guests . You booked for 2 people but added some more, we were really flexible and didn’t charge you, anything you asked we jumped to do. On another note, Renee our admin queen has been trying to reach you as your payment method is not working and we are owed over $1800 from you. Please contact her immediately Thank you, Alana and Nicole Husby

My husband and I stayed here for several days at the end of July 2023 and we highly recommend it. The glamping "tents" are extremely comfortable. We had a view of the beach and it was lovely to sit out on our deck and enjoy coffee or breakfast, watching nature. The common area Dome is well-stocked with everything you would ever need to make food, and breakfast was amazing each morning. I really do want the recipe for every single one of those delicious muffins! We were also allowed to put our own food into the common fridge, as long as our food was well-labelled. The other guests were congenial and we enjoyed seeing each other throughout our stay. Our bed was comfortable and we had way more room in our glamping tent than in just about any standard hotel room. I do wish there had been a couple of luggage racks to put our suitcases onto, but everything else was impeccable. We would love to come back over and over and over again!

If you love the outdoors and appreciate the comforts of a good night's sleep, luxurious linens and privacy this is your place! This was our first glamping experience and exceeded our expectations is so many ways. Alana and Nicole were amazing, attentive to our every need. The dome and BBQ deck were very well equipped to suite our every need for cooking on site including a gigantic crab pot to cook our freshly caught crab.
The tents are sturdy, very roomy and beautifully decorated with exquisite taste throughout. Bathrooms attached to each tent provided plenty of privacy and loved the feeling of a hot shower with great pressure that was indoor/outdoor. Whether you stay in the beach facing tents or in the rain forest you will feel pampered and rejuvenated by the beauty of the accommodations and gorgeous surroundings including beach access complete with fire pit and comfy cushions. Glamping beats a hotel and Haida Gwaii Glamping has set the bar very high for glamping in general. You will not regret this experience. I have not doubt they will be booked up a year in advance as soon as word gets out about this unique place. Thank you Alana and Nicole for creating a space to build beautiful memories:)

There is absolutely nothing one needs to bring but clothing and food. Alana and Nicole have thought of everything. The kitchen tent is completely stock with every utensil, pot or dishes one would ever need. Beds were so comfortable. We would most definitely stay there again. They love pets too😀

Where to start?!

Alana and Nicole don't overlook a detail when it comes to designing and delivering a beautifully rustic but elegant, cozy, down to earth escape, where we truly felt like we were in another world, when really, we live just down the highway.

We booked the entire Haida Gwaii Glamping venue for our wedding in Tlell in September 2019, for our friends, family, and us to stay over the weekend. We had the reception on the beach at Misty Meadows* and built a tent in the Tlell fair grounds for the reception, all within a 2 minute drive from the venue. My husband and I hands down would have held the wedding at the venue, but were nervous 250-300 people might be pushing it ;). The venue is more than capable of hosting a wedding, but I'll leave it up to the hosts to determine the capacity.

First and foremost, the staff are accommodating, attentive, incredibly friendly, and really care about maximizing the comfort of their guests.

The communal areas are above and beyond: a cedar hot tub, covered BBQ area, cozy beach firepit setup and a geodesic dome with a fully stocked kitchen, all with beautiful design touches throughout. The whole venue is well laid out, adorned with many hammocks, and connected by charming boardwalks. Across the highway is a beautiful field that provides a view of stunning sunsets.

But let's talk about the tents. They are carefully placed throughout the forest and dunes to be respectful of the neighbours and are barely noticeable from the beach. They are spacious, simple but well decorated, and stocked with thoughtful amenities. The real showstopper is the bed: unbelievably comfortable!!! Lastly, the private balconies provide a nice opportunity to peacefully soak in the surrounding salal and spruce (balconies on the beachfront tents are especially private, with ocean views).

Our absolute only regret about staying here is this: we are chronically bad for not taking enough photos and swept up in it all, we deeply regret not taking more wedding photos here! We really missed out on an opportunity to showcase the venue in that way. Nevertheless, please enjoy the few photos we pulled together and envision what your event might be like here!

Alana and Nicole, thank you so much for sharing this amazing space with us, providing us with moments of peace and relaxation during a whirlwind weekend. We are excited to hear you are back up and running (dang covid) this spring and cannot wait to stay with you again!

* we built and quickly deconstructed our wedding arch on the beach, limiting our impact on Naikoon park.
