We stayed here for one night on our way to the States. The property is well kept and the rooms were fine. The bed was comfortable. There seemed to be a number of workers staying at this location. They were very courteous of the other guest staying in the Inn. The breakfast was a continental buffet, but was enough for us. The staff were very welcoming and helpful in finding us a place to eat dinner.
It was difficult to get a reservation anywhere on the Cabot Trail and luckily this property became available for one night only which was unfortunate. The property was spotless and the rooms were very comfortable. The price was great and the staff was excellent. We had dinner there and enjoyed the meal as well as the charm of te dining room.
This adventure did not start off here, we started off at a different hotel that was very disappointing! Like no water kind of disappointing! Quick phone call to this place and we were booked in! We have a dog with us, so they put us in the refurbished house that is pet friendly. It’s very cute! Might not be the up to 2022 decor, but it’s clean! There’s hot water! Well there is water period haha! It’s close to the liquor store! Superstore ect! And they are super friendly! Real down to earth! Our boy Max played ball in the field. All in all for a small town hotel, one of the better small town ones we found!
The Winsome Inn is a good stop on your way into or out of Canada. It’s an impeccably clean, old style motel. The motel is basic so don’t expect anything special. The in room microwave and fridge are a welcome perk for travelers. The staff is super nice and the continental breakfast has plenty of basic choices. The coffee is good. Rooms are also rented out to local contractors but don’t let that dissuade you. The place is quiet and as stated before - impeccably clean. There is gas, Tim Hortons and large grocery across the street. Walk into town is about 15 minutes
If you read the website for the Winsome Inn, you'll read that it's a rare 3 1/2 star hotel/motel with a breakfast where no one leaves hungry. The reality was that we were given a clean but somewhat run-down and very small room bordering on the main road, with not much lighting and a ridiculously loud A/C. The breakfast was pathetic even by COVID to-go standards. But still, if you just need a place to stay it is fine, though you would not want to linger in your room a moment longer than necessary. Another oddity: no garbage cans in sight, even though it is supposedly dog-friendly (where do you they want you to dispose the poop? We had to walk a block to the hardware store). The old school "call to get a reservation and you get a real key on arrival" is charming, however, and staff was friendly.…
Stayed here oct 14 , check in was good , bed was comfortable, not the most elaborate place ,but was good for a quick one night stop. They do offer a contentential breakfast. Like I said not the most fancy place , most of the customers that are staying in this motel are construction contractors.
This was a great one night stay on our way out of Canada. The room was well equipped and clean, but lacking a coffee pot! That always bugs me a lot. However, the complimentary breakfast has good coffee, plus all basics including hard boiled eggs, breads, juices, cereals and yogurt. The staff were efficient and friendly and parking was easy, right in front of your room which opens onto the parking lot. Would recommend for a short stay on your way through town.
We stayed at the Winsome Inn for one night. Nice hotel with clean rooms. Extremely convenient if you just arrived in Canada or are heading back to US. Grocery store across the street. The offer a complimentary breakfast. Breakfast room is very well appointed and clean. The offer coffee, bagels, toast , cereal and yogurt. If you are looking for a more substantial breakfast Carmans down the street is excellent.
Stayed here for one night. Staff was friendly room was nicely decorated and the bed comfortable. Our only complaint was that the bathroom fan was tied into the light and was very noisy even with the door closed. My daughters room had the same problem in the other wing. Lots of parking and there is a large grocery store across the road and lots of restaurants nearby (Carmans Diner great). Adequate continental breakfast.
We (couple) have stayed at the Winsome many times as we travel between Quebec and the Maritimes. It is a simple motel, with no frills. The room and bathroom were basically clean, but with two exceptions - insects in the overhead light and grunge in the air conditioner. The curtains on the window also had a small hole. I mention these imperfections because they could easily be rectified. "Recently renovated" on the sign needs an update - perhaps some rooms have been changed but most that we have stayed in have been the same for many years. Breakfast was good - lots of coffee, tea, juice, yoghurt, cereal, and breads. One final point: Pets are allowed in certain areas. In the rooms where we were, pets were not permitted, but the people next door had a dog! The dog was quiet and was not a problem (we like dogs), but some people might not be so lucky. I mention the imperfections so that people will know what to expect.…
