We enjoyed our stay. The place is very clean. Management and staff are excellent. And the food is well worth the drive. We had 5 meals over 3 days and each one was perfect!! We will definitely be returning.
First - it's 4km from the police station(last building as you exit town), should not even be called Hotel Bonavista! It's really deceiving and I should of known better with the close up picture that just shows the entrance. It's in the bush on the HWY..(4kms out of town). Second, when I got to site the lobby has old trowelled dry wall on ceiling, when you enter it smells sewage, and paint is flaking off the ceiling in our washroom, shower just dribbles,(eco-shower head), but other than that was ok..price is way to much when you consider I'm staying at the Sandman next day in St-John's for less, and the rooms are night and day better! It's a 65 dollar room they do for 145. But hey it's tourist season - and had 2 choices - not go to Bonavista or go..everything else was booked..And the owners know it..like others have said - I would not go back. If they would of advised - I would of ate there - but I didn't want to give them a penny more than their overpriced rooms were. Not happy camper..but made it work..…
We stayed only one night, the cabin had everything we needed, we were fortunate that the weather was perfect, we watched the sun go down, it was idyllic & photogenic, We were so fortunate. Worth every dollar.
Spent one night in the cabin. Filthy. Bathroom was so dirty, couldn't even risk getting a shower.Would never go back. Especially paying $150 plus tax. Floors, sink dirty. Lack of dinner plates. Pans extremely dirty.
Definitely under staffed. I don't mind dated as long as it's clean. Although the cammode and sink are clean the rest is filthy and looks as if it hasn't been cleaned in years.A thick layer of dirt on all the caulking, mold around the tub and mystery splatters all about. Yuck yuck yuck. Avertised high speed internet might be from the last century.
