Rooms are a little dated, although it was clean. Staff are SUPER friendly, very helpful, excellent customer service. Should consider updates to rooms and more comfy beds and pillows . Excellent location exterior very appealing, inside not so much. Great Food tho

There aren't alot of accommodation options in the Carbonear area, so we had to stay here when visiting family and friends. The location is great, across the street from the mall, and beside several resturants. The manager is very friendly, and it seems like they tried to upgrade recently, with new flooring in the room and a fresh coat of paint on the walls. But thats where they stopped. Our room smelled very musty no matter what we did to try to freshen it up. The furnishings are from the 1950's, the boxsprings and mattresses on the 2 double beds were even older than the furnishings, were very uncomfortable and sat too low to the floor. The towels, bed linens and blankets all had stains, rips and holes, and the pillows were rock hard. The bed spreads were very old, eerily well used and the matching curtain was falling off the rod and did not fully cover the one tiny window. The tv remote had inoperable buttons and the front desk person made my husband wait while she finished her cigarette outside, before she would even come to our room to check it out. No matter what we said, she insisted that remotes don't turn tv's on/off or adjust volume, and seemed very annoyed that we had bothered her. I think remotes work the same everywhere, even in Newfoundland, but we never did get a repacement. There is a small fridge that worked well, however no coffee maker in the room. We got rid of about 10 carpenter bugs in the bathroom during our stay - I'm sure the mold around the bathroom floor and shower doors attracted them.

With no other accommodation options, we felt at their mercy and made the best of it. It s really too bad because this little motel has so much potential, if given alot of TLC, but it seems they really don't care. Next time we want to visit friends and family in the area, we will stay farther away, and make day trips in, as we will never never stay here again.

Wow , this was the most outdated place I have ever stayed. It was terrible. Everything about the room was awful. We arrived for a nights stay . First of all I had to go and ask for Toilet tissue. The bathroom had odd faucets , mold in the corners. The mattress covers on the beds were so thin it was ridiculous how worn they were . There was a chair in the room which the seat was completely broken off you had to be careful if you sat there . No sign saying that it was broken. The lock on the door couldn't even properly lock one could push the door open . The restaurant food and staff was great that's the only things that was good .
