Close to the Cabot trail, restaurants and waterfront. The motel is older and has had some upgrades done. We booked last minute so not any choice of room, I would have preferred the main section of the motel as it looks in better repair, however we had a great view and we’re close to the water. The restaurant provides a decent free breakfast. The chicken takeout is good as well. Our room needed some TLC for sure -paint flaking, curtains off their track, old noisy Air conditioner units, etc but it was ok for us and we spent very little time there anyway. The owner is very friendly and they will go out of their way to help your stay be as pleasant as possible. Overall very good value and conveniently located.

There was a sock behind the bed, and a used Tim Hortons bag in the fridge. The AC wasn’t working, and it was impossible to sleep in the heat. Wouldn’t return unless it was absolutely necessary. Staff was pretty nice though, the owner looked like a Hispanic Danny Devito. It was cool.

This place is not that glamourous and that's all that I can say that can be taken as negative. We had no shortage of fun in the games room (maybe it's missing a pool table?). Included breakfast was the best we had during our stay in Nova Scotia. Better even than the one had to pay for at Hotel Halifax. Loved the outdoor swimming pool. There's even a trampoline.

oh My, First time I was burned by a hotel booked thru hotels.com. Thankfully we were able to cancel additional night and move on to another hotel. We were in a bldg at the back of the property and it was really dirty. It smelled badly. the window had what looked like a bullet hole. Covered over with plexiglass . THe screen was ripped so we couldn't open the window for fresh air. There were body fluid stains on the comforter. Thank god the sheets looked clean. The shower curtain(see Photos) had a huge mold stain and was ripped. Bathroom smelled like an airplane bathroom or urinal It was just gross.

We spent 5 days there and Mac the owner went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. Not only did we get 2 very comfortable queen sized beds, but we got the big tub when I told Mac I liked to soak in the tub. From check in to check out Mac made sure we had an exceptional experience. The view, the room. the food and the staff made our trip very enjoyable. The upgrades that Mac has made both inside and out show that he takes pride in his business! We were treated like family and we will definitely return!

We had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful place. Our room overlooked the lake. There was a balcony off of our room where you could sit and enjoy the gorgeous vista. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. Our stay included breakfast which we had in their spacious dining room. The staff is super friendly too. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Our first stay at this beautiful property. Our room was clean and very comfortable and we really enjoyed sitting on the deck overlooking the lake. It was very private and quiet. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We expected a continental breakfast and were pleasantly surprised to be served a full breakfast by our friendly host! We will be back!

Very early season 3 night stay. We arrived late and tired and were unable to find any restaurants open along the way. Their restaurant was closed due to a religious holiday, but they offered to let us pick from the menu and then cooked our dinner to order to eat in our room! WOW! Beautiful location on Bras d'Or Lake. Room was close to highway but was actually quite quiet. Room was clean, comfortable, up dated, and in good shape, with a nice view of the lake. They were redoing the decks for our row of rooms when were we were there, so they should be in good shape when warmer weather arrives. Our breakfast was cooked to order every morning at our chosen time. They even accommodated us on our last morning, when we needed a very early start. Pricing was very reasonable. Can't say enough about how hospitable the owner was!
