Even though the weather had closed down on us, Oakwood Manor lifted our spirits. On arrival we were offered tea and shown into the farm's lounge which had a spectacular hexagonal cedar ceiling and windows overlooking a large orchard with trees that are at least 75 years old. In the breakfast room the wood stove was covered by a couple...

This is truly a wonderful bed and breakfast to stay several nights. It's a little remote, but still close to Meat Cove, Pleasant Bay, Ingonnish and the Cabot Trail. The McEvoy's are wonderful hosts and have a lovely home. Our room was beautfiul and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was good size and very much enjoyed the bathtub...

It's a little off the beaten path but worth the effort. We had mountain views out of our window. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast with eggs cooked any way you want, bacon, cereal, toast tea or coffee. Our host was very knowledgeable on the local folklore. I highly recommend The Oakwood Manor

If you go to Cape North, Nova Scotia, you know you are going to a relatively remote area. It is the "end of the world", so-to-speak. You then know that you will only visit with the owners (who were very friendly and willing to visit) or other guests. We stayed 2 nights. Our first night, the B&B was full. We...

Me and my friends had a very lovely stay at the Oakwood Manor when we visted Cape North. The house was very interesting as it's completed wood. The B&B owner was very nice and helpful. We stayed at the little suite adjacent to the house and it's quite cozy and comfortable. The backyard was truly beautiful, luch green grass with...

The Oakwood Manor is a wonderful b&b set back on a lovely property very near the Cabot Trail. We stayed in the suite and absolutely LOVED it!! The host was very gracious and gave us many ideas of things to do in the area. The location is ideal for spending a few days in Cape Breton as it is near...

We enjoyed wandering around the grounds of this B&B. The old farm grounds would be beautiful in Summer. Unfortunately, we were visiting in the should season, so it was chilly and none of the trees or flowers (etc.) were in bloom. I think it would be nicer during the summer months, if you were looking for something remote and off...

I loved this place! It was adorable and had all of the amenities I could have ever asked for at an incredible price. We stayed in the suite and there was a fireplace, jacuzzi tub, large comfortable bed, tea and coffee in room -- really everything I wanted! I would stay again in a second. We wish we didn't have...

Since booking a bed and breakfast is a bit of a trust experience, this one turned out to be worth the investment. The directions leave one a little unsure about the route but it turns out so happily that this is most likely quickly forgotten, as I did. The house is a unique family treasure and if there had been...
