You couldn't ask for a better location - last hotel out of Cheticamp before the Park entrance. The bright colors are inviting. The property is sharp and clean and on the verge of something even better. Plans are in the works for a full hotel breakfast restaurant across the street. You already have manicured river side trails out the hotel back door, lounge chairs and an inviting and open fire pit for sharing community. Best part of the stay - Craig and Kathy were like my personal trqvel agents for what to see and do in Cheticamp and on the Trail. We had a couple of really nice visits over coffee. No rush. No rush. I can't wait to see what they got coming in the Spring.

Hi Bob and thanks for sharing your stay with the many travelers about the amazing service and comfort your received at the Cornerstone Motel! As you have experienced, we strive to make every guest feel welcome and provide them with tips and places to see that they might otherwise not be aware of. We believe if we share this with our guests they too can have a memorable trip and will want to come back for more of the great service and scenery Cape Breton has to offer and that's what sets us apart from the rest! As you indicated, our high standards and super clean rooms makes everybody that stays here feel that they have experienced the way travel should be. Unfortunately this is not always the case for every motel when you travel, however we set the bar high and are second to none! Fingers crossed, we are hoping to provide our guests with a full breakfast in 2022, provided we are able to find enough staff and Covid does not hold up delivery of equipment and services required to make this happen. We still have a way to go, however we are working hard on making it happen if we possibly can. We will be looking forward to having you come back in the future should you ever be out this way and thank you for taking the time to share your great experience at the Cornerstone Motel with others!!

Rooms are clean. Great view of river and trees during autumn. Extremely friendly and helpful owner and staffs. We were in a difficult situation when having a car accidence there and could not arrange the departure as planned. They allowed us to stay longer and offerred to provide a place to sleep if we could not hire a car. Much appreciated.

Hi "AngVic Ton" It was our pleasure to help you guys out, as your car accident left you in a very difficult position and we felt you needed a little comfort and we needed to find a way to help you out. Since this happened on the last day of the season we were opened, we were able to host your stay as long as you needed in order to settle your travel arrangements and arrange a new vehicle so you could get back to your home. It brought us great pleasure in knowing we could help you guys out by taking one worry off your plate by making sure that your family was safe and had a warm place to stay while you managed the other details. Hopefully we might see you in the future and we look forward to hosting you again, hopefully under much more relaxed circumstances! Take care...

Hotel offers good value by hands on owners. Best advice I can offer is if you are arriving in the night and leaving at crack of dawn, then book cheapest rooms for bed and shower.(doubt you will find anything cheaper). If any sort of elongated stay, then best to invest in the $20 or so upgrade to deluxe. You will receive a massive clean room with good amenities, a better view and further away from traffic noise(what there is of it). Property is neatly landscaped and expansive with easy parking. Located right at entrance of CBNP and just a few miles from Cheticamp for dining. Ask owner for recommendations, might have some ideas you haven’t thought of. Our stay was good with a few minor inconveniences of rumbling/banging pipes underneath when people in the block use water and maybe requires some kind of water diverter/guttering when it rains as we did get a bit wet loading up the car in the morning with water heavily pooling and dripping over entrance. Shower water stays lukewarm for awhile on startup, but does get nice and hot eventually. In summary, key word is value. (What do you receive for the price you pay). There is good value here.

Thanks "Outbax" for sharing your experience while staying at the Cornerstone Motel. We too believe that we are a the best value in the area by far, yet super clean and comfortable and provide more to our guests by way of PRIVATE walking trails on the property, fire pit and a scenic view of the CB highlands that is simply stunning. We can definitely be used as a place for a bed and shower, but we are so much more than that if people are looking for a place with personality! We hope to see you back soon!

The rooms were very clean, microwave in the room was fantastic. BUT the best part was the most friendly owners. They provided everything we needed and even drove a picked us up from dinner!! They were amazing. The next after we left they even arranged for a bag to be delivered to a drop off point as we were on a bike trip. They went above and beyond. They had great fire pits and a great knowledge of the area. Definitely recommend

We try very hard to make everything just right so you can leave the Cornerstone Motel with nothing but great memories of our establishment and Cape Breton. Hopefully the rest of your trip was great and you guys made it to your next couple of destinations as planned! Hope to see you guys back next time you cycle the Cabot Trail or just come out for a visit in the car!

The view outside our window was stunning. The owner's have created a lovely walk in the property by the river. If is hot you can go for a swim. The room was comfortable with everything you need including a microwave. You can tell the owners are on site. Everything was very well maintained.
